Power Wagon Registry

I am searching for rock rails for my 2015 PW. I like the White Knuckle design, but they are 2-3 months away from delivery. I also like Aluminess design, approx. 3 weeks made to order, but they told me that the sliders attach to the body and not the frame. I don't understand why they wouldn't attach to the frame, seems like it is a much stronger attachment point. I just found these, I like the style, but looking at the web site it's not clear how they attach ( http://www.runningboardwarehouse.com/ir ... -2012.aspx ). I have also thought about having a local shop make a pair of my own design, as I can't find a design that I really like. I want a rail/slider that will protect and is also wide enough to double as a step. It seems that rails with steps built into the design would allow the step sections to snag on boulders, and just pure rails aren't wide enough to offer an effective step. So I am thinking that a rail with detachable steps would be ideal. For daily driving leave the steps attached, but when off-roading just a quick unbolting of the steps and you are ready to roll. I am not into rock crawling or extreme off-roading, I just want something to protect the truck when driving on a rocky trail.

Have a shop make them or get the white knuckles. I have them and have abused them and they are holding up awesome

Where are you located. Im working on a jig to start making rails similar to the white knuckle ones. Im a month away from the first and second set. Up in saskatchewan Canada

The shipping to/from Canada is bruuuutal. That's why all our N. friends are group designing & making their own.

Wait on white knuckle...you're already in Ca, go there and just have them install for you. You'll save about $350 shipping & a bunch of time installing them yourself...

They are coming. Work took me north for a couple weeks. Had some issues bending the heavy wall tube but we got it figured out. When I get home ill be back on it

I just bought these on Amazon using my birthday gift card. 5" iBoard Running Boards for 195.00 w/ free shipping. Frame mount. Not a rock slider, but they will do until the White Knuckle sliders come out. My poor wife literally has to jump out of the truck so as not to wear out the seat edge.

I saw those and was thinking about buying a set. They look to be wider than the ones I currently have, which I like. Be sure to add some reviews of them.

The white knuckles are worth it those things are tough. I cut my front mount off them because they were in the way of my Thuren Alien long Arms and they are still stout! I can lift the truck up with them no problem. I've beat the hell out of them pretty happy so far!

I just spent the weekend beating the piss out of my Sliders from White Knuckle and they still look like new minus some paint missing from their underside. I had mine powder coated, but if I could do it again I would get the Line X.

Here's an update. I added these steps that I bought from Amazon 198.00 includes free shipping. Arrived 3 days after ordering. Installation took about 40 minutes. Was easy to do using existing holes. The instructions are crap, but it's pretty easy to figure out on your own. If you are looking for a step and not rock rails, I highly recommend these. They look great and the quality is pretty good. Eventually I will replace with White Knuckle rails. The best thing is that my wife no longer slides out of the seat when exiting the truck and prematurely wearing out the seat bolster.

Those sure look nice, but I am eagerly awaiting the WK Sliders this summer. My boys and I were out mudding the other day, and I sure could've used them. We were crawling up a muddy hill in 4L, at something like 3 mph, when the back end shimmied. I heard a faint "clunk," sorta like if someone had rapped their knuckles gently on the back of the truck. I didn't think much of it until I got home, and my oldest boy couldn't open the passenger side door. I got out to find $3300 worth of damage to the door and rocker panel. Yikes! I was in such shock that I didn't think to take a picture, but my buddy who was riding shotgun (and operating the winch controls the three times we got stuck) might have because he was snapping pictures the whole afternoon. I guess that we must've slid into a stump that was hidden in the tall grass. We'll be having nothing but the mildest of off-road-adventures until I get those babies installed.

ya you better! Here's a picture of my rusty frame to get you motivated haha jk! I know your having issues with your work vehicle/ rig to right now must be frustrating luckily I'm close to work so if my pinion falls out I'm just gunna walk it for a few days ! lol :/

So imagine what your truck would look like if you didn't have any protection!

I got one of the last sets of the original Mopar 3G rock rails (pic below right after install) in California when my truck was new in 07. They have saved my rocker panels many, many times one of the best investments I have made for the PW. I won't go on any serious trails without them.

I've used commercial bedliner on slider. In my 6 years of hard core rock crawling (the best of AZ and the Hammer's in CA), I found that heavily applied bed liner acted as an anchor when rocks dug into it vs sliding on bare steel. And once gouged, it tended to peel. So, all I use now is rattle can liner products so they can be retouched.

That is a good point, hadn't thought of that.

White Knuckle with bedliner is the way to go. They are tough and good looking.

That's really shitty! Looks like you were giving it a good workout. I'm planning on getting some soon as well. Welcome to the forum!
