AMP powersteps reviews (thinking of getting a set)

Howdy,
Thinking of selling my Mopar W2W steps and going with some AMP powersteps for a cleaner look.
Anyone here running them have any complaints at all, I read mixed reviews of winter use and possible jamming/locking up if you don't keep them clean and lubed in the winter.
Thanks.

hey man I got a set on my 2011 PW I love them when my trucks clean but say if I go mudding and get mud on the step when they close, they close only to where the mud hits, keep them clean In summer and youll be good, winter on the other hand when u wash the things they will freeze up you gotta lube them up till theres no ice then they will work but then I just got pissed off and ripped the fuse out for the winter, only thing was I was jumping into my truck.... 40" tires and no steps don't mix lol

i have them on my 2012 pw and love them. i have an over-ride switch in the cab when activated keeps the boards up when mudding, 4wheeling, snow/ice, etc. so steps won't go down when doors open. if you have ice caked on the rockers or whatever you won't run the risk of boards trying to drop and blowing a fuse or worse
i opted for step lights from them installed on the rockers. what a waste of money that was. due to freezing and hot temps, they never did stay up and i cut them off.

I have a set on my 14 and love them... I went with them because there are no sliders available and I like the look of the truck without a step or slider hanging off the side... When mine are up you don't even know they are there... I live in GA so I don't really deal with snow/ice... I don't do a lot of mud either but I would guess that could gunk em up pretty good...

I have seen a company that makes rock sliders with an electric fold out step. Might be worth looking into

I've had them a several trucks pretty much since AMP invented them. I've never had issues with them, and they have always been on oil patch work trucks.

I had them and they were great, sold them to get sliders though, they just did not offer any protection.

I have them on my 2012. They are great in the summer. When I installed them I installed a disconnect switch so that I can turn them off. It seems like I turn them off when it starts to freeze, turn them on again in the spring! I would have rather found some sliders, but there wasn't too much out there a couple years ago, especially in Canada!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I am still interested in getting a set later this year however the winter/cold sounds like it may be an issue if they are not kept clean.

Put me down as another fan of AMP boards. I've had them on my last two trucks.

I love mine. I have three kids under age 11, and I don't think they could get in the truck without some kind of step, but I sure didn't want tube steps. We had a pretty rough winter here in West Virginia, but all I ever had to do to keep the steps working was clean out the hinges with my fingers when the steps were down.
