It seems to be a love/hate type of thing. I am still on the fence about it and need some more info from real world users. It is not like it can easily be added (or deleted) later down the road so I want to get it right the first time.

What is your opinion with it and why? For those that do have it, post up some pics of what you store in it and how you organized it.

I don't have it but man I wish I did. I lost a ton of space when I put my toolbox in the bed of my truck. It's the only regret I have with my truck, not waiting for the Rambox.

Yeah that's kinda where I am at. I had a tool box in the back of my last trucks and always loved the dry/lockable storage, but every now and then would be doomed because of the loss of depth in the bed. The ram box looks like it definitely looses some side space in the bed, but I am not sure how important that is to me.

I like the convenience of the ram box. If you don't mind permanently losing space in your box and being $1300 lighter in the pocket then go for it. Personally, I would prefer to have the $1300 in my pocket and get a standard locking tool box that can be removed if needed. It is a pain in the ass having to crawl into the back of your box just to get tools though.
The ram box might affect resale in a negative way , as potential buyers may want to use canopies, truck campers or have all the space available for a quad or sled. I didn't have an option when I bought mine but if I had, I would have passed on it.

I looked at getting them on mine before I bought it and decided against them in the end since I am usually hauling one of my atvs around and 2 of them are right at 50" wide. And 1 is actually over 50" if I put my other set of wheels and tires on it. Then I wouldn't have even been able to haul it. Still kind of regret having them at times though.

I just went and measured mine. From one side to the other I got 50" with the rambox.

With stock tires my grizzly 700 is 48-48.5 inches or so. My arctic cat is 50 or more inches stock. Most people end up putting on bigger tires

I would gladly trade the width you lose with the Rambox over the length I lost with my toolbox. I would have waited for the Rambox but the deal on my 2012 was too good to pass up. I actually talked to my favorite body shop and accessory place and he said around $6,500 to get a Rambox for my truck (the box itself, paint, Line-X, etc) so I passed. I can do a lot to the truck for $6,500!

I don't have it on my 08'. I am glad i don't have it. Even with the over-the-rail WeatherGuard toolbox, i was able to easily get 2 tons of gravel in the bed. Plus, my home made bike racks attach above the bed but are held on the rail with c-clamps. Not sure you could do that with the ram box. I use the bike rack every year. As stated above, atv's with aftermarket tires would not fit. Mine simply rode up over the wheel wells. Plus no cap.

They are a great idea, I think they just executed it all wrong. IMHO, the wasted space is in the sides of the bed, between the inner & outer walls & in front of & behind the wheel wells. Side access doors would give you the ability to have it all. Extra storage, full width bed & metal rails to use tie-downs/c-clamps on.

It works for some. Not so much for others.

Agree with the space between skins and it should have been used. I had my local truck salvage yards put me on a notification list for used ramboxes if they come in. Way cheaper that way but you gotta wait till one shows up.

I was torn about ordering them as well. In the end, it came down to wanting the flexibility of the full bed, cause they're a decision that cannot be undone. I was going to add either a topper shell or a diamondback HD cover, neither of which is possible with the Rambox. I put on a Diamondback HD covered with lined-x & love it. I've hauled lots of things on the top of that cover & it's really convienent for me. If you're a contractor of some sort, then they'd be more useful I'd guess. Depends really on how you use your truck.

That is pretty much it. I'm sure for some they could not live without it, and others they could not live with it.

Are there any aftermarket tonneau covers that work with the ram box, or do you have to get the one that is offered when you order the truck (or I am sure it is available from Mopar)? And is there anyone out that that can chime in about the topper offered with the rambox?

We have a Bak-flip tonneau on ours. Easy no drill installation and seals tight to keep water out.

Got and love it! I haul a sled it fits fine. Don't have a quad and one won't fit in it . A deck would work but it looks like it would have to be modified to fit in the box. I haven't seen one made to fit the rambox. But I'm enjoying not crawling in for everything else. I put guns in one side and ammo in the other. Lol! I get positive comments often when people see me putting shopping bags in the sides. Hope this helps.

Ramboxes are a must-have! I had them on my 2013 1500, and I am already missing them on my 06 PW. People used to say to me all the time: "But you lose bed width you can't lay 4x8 plywood down flat blah blah" so what? I don't do plywood or drywall for a living so I could care less. If I need to haul it I will lay it diagonal and tie it down, problem solved.
I kept all my tools in there, tie down straps, hitch ball, seat cover and towels for the dogs, greasy parts, etc. It is so nice to have 2 full locking compartments. Anything dirty or smelly that you don't want in the cab goes in there! Then you can spray it with the hose when you get home. The best part is a 12 pack fits in the ramboxes perfectly, so when it is chilly outside your beer will stay cold! Get the ramboxes you will not regret it.

Right now I actually am skeptical about getting a bed toolbox for my 06 because I do not want to lose bed length. If ramboxes were an option for me, I would not need a bed toolbox lol.

I would have got them but they don't seem to order many trucks around here with them for whatever reason and I don't have patience to order one. Plus, I'm not sure of any tonnaeu covers out for them but I could be mistaken......not wrong, never wrong, only mistaken.

I know they make the soft tonnaeu covers for ram boxes, not sure of the hard-style ones (whats the point of owning a pickup with one of these?) though.
