Damn winch.

Alright, so we found out on the get together that my winch isn't working.

So today I stopped at a local parts supply place bought some welding tip cleaners dielectric grease and fluid film. After I got the cap off, I started clearing the connectors, and found one to be corroded right away, I know there one blank spot and the rest all have pins.

Can I get a new connector for my controller, and where? This one will be packed with grease so this doesn't happen again.

What a pain in my ass.

Don't sure, but I don't recommend searching 'winch issues' in the search bar....

Winch is too commonly used on the forum. Winch is kind of funny it's own way. Just makes searching for winch related issues. An issue.

Are you talking the remote? If so, yes just about any off the shelf controller will work... but a wise investment would be the Warn wireless remote system now.

Mine rotted also. I rewired it to a 7 pin trailer plug up near the rad support. Then you have to rewire the remote to match. Had a picture but can't find it. Friend of mine did the same but mounted the socket in the cab.

What ever you do to fix it.........................Fluid Film is your friend when it comes to stopping corrosion before it is too late.

you can buy the replacement socket. I helped a fellow owner rebuild his winch and that was one of the parts needed, along with 4 solinoids and a new motor. Part is around $75. Just go to warn.com download the parts list for a m15000 12v winch. its got all the part numbers you need. The 24v part number is : 39887
