The 2014 blues

Post by twistedpw » Sun Sep 14, 2014 11:01 am

Went to two dealers yesterday during my travels looking for a price on trading my 06 for a 14 (rolled 120k miles) the dealer in Orangeville On. Told me that they have never had a Power Wagon in their yard, ( which is BS my ignition switch was fixed there!!!!) A Chrysler Canada rep was also their yesterday and he had never even heard of a Power Wagon, ( WTF!!) he thought I had the decals made for my tailgate! In the whole dealership there was one salesperson who knew what a PW was, so I talked with him turns out his son has a 2010 that was bought up north when he lived in Bracebridge. This sales person then proceded to tell me that the PW is not the truck for me, "You couldn't afford it". This stop was o frustrating trying to get a f#*kin price, I went to the dealer that Is around the corner from me this time armed with the ram truck pamphlet. And again not one f#*kin person knew what a PW was even though I live two blocks away and every time I go there for parts the whole f:;kin place gets off there chair to droll. All I wanted yesterday was someone to give me a quote, and my second stop was as bad as the first the whole sales team is at the window staring at my truck as I ask for price on a new one, and I get multiple answers like " they don't make those anymore" to " it's going to be out of your price range". I sorry but isn't a salesman's job to sell stuff that we can't "afford". Almost wanted to tell the sale man to flock himself but a kept my cool and proceeded to prove them all wrong, yes they do still make them and yes I can afford it. Which they responded with " we would want, like $10,000 down payment, for this special order". And this is when I f@(kin blew, I told the same sales f@(k I got my '12 ram 5500 work truck from that he can take his quote and put it where the sun don't shine! They wanted my truck for trade before the new one was ordered, or a huge down payment.
So now I am thinking I am going to give up on the 2014 and just keep fixing the one a have. I think this would be better for my blood pressure and liver :chug:. So f-in pissed yesterday that today looks like a good day to got shoot something :lockedandloaded:, moose season is in the air and got to try out new muzzle brake on the canon,

Sounds like you may need to go out of town to find a dealer that actually wants to sell something...

That's just bad management from the top down. You would think knowing your product line would be one of the most important things for a sales person to know. I remember back in 2006 going onto the lot and the first sales person I talked to tried to steer me to a station wagon !!!

That's just sad. I can see a salesman not knowing the minute details, but not knowing that it exists???

That Chrysler rep should lose his/her job. Period. How does anything in the lineup have a chance at competing when the FACTORY REP doesn't know the product.

And a salesman should never presume to know your ability to pay for something. It's a skill they need to develop for very busy times, shows, big sales, etc. so they don't waste their time, but it can be dangerous when they voice their conclusion to the customer. Bad practice. They should ask your budget, not tell you.

Good luck in your search!

You're a better man than I am. I can deal with ignorant sales people, because let's face it, the power wagons just aren't that common. Although, they should at least skim their sales brochure and know what's available.

The second they told me that I couldn't afford a vehicle, I would have lost it. And a $10k deposit just to order? Holy hell! I can walk in my local dealer tomorrow and order what ever the hell I want for $1000 deposit, done it twice already. Whether or not I can get financed or afford the vehicle is none of their damn business.

if i were you i'ld abandon all dodge products seeing how you'll need to rely on the dealer for warranty service...unless there is another dealer you are willing to drive to.
