Ha Ha, you locked the main topic but I got in anyway.

Not wanting to beat a Dead Horse, but I have been on many Forms (Fishing, Mustangs, Brute 650, JetSki) and there are folks that Race, Polish and just like them, and there is always room for everyone. It is when someone Ask for Special areas/permision, when things get Ugly or peoples feelings get hurt, till then everyone is fine. I have been a Big reader of Petersons 4Wheeler and Four Wheel drive, and every so often someone says "why do you keep showing Massive Built Trucks when most just want to do a little Off road, or Why are you only Showing Show and Shine, show the real mans truck.

Well this site is for the real mans truck lovers, and that means all the things we do as men... Some Build, Some Crawl (Mall) some do things I would Never do with mine, and some cant believe I pull a 5th wheel with mine. But...I never get upset, for I learn from everymans Do's Donts and Custom builds, and Shinny pretty trucks.

So, do what you want to with yours and enjoy others Ability and right to do what they want to with theirs... or you can just, get back to Tweeting....

I really hope that 2011RPW will hang around. We always need someone with a different view on how they want to build their truck. I sure hope I didn't help fuel the fire on his original tire rub thread, as that was not my intention. Hell some guys on here will think I'm dumb with the engine mods, exhaust cutout, and train horns, etc, that I have done, but they all serve a purpose for me (horns are the only thing I would leave off, but they were cheap and I thought what the hell at the time). Another persons build or truck look will give me more idea's for the future even though it may not fit the genre that I want my truck to fit in.

That's just my point, respect.

I'm probably one of the most tame owners on the forum, and there's places my truck could go that I'll never take it. I admire those who throw caution to the wind and go like hell and take their trucks in holes I'd never dream of. Not all of us may like 20" rimes, but that doesn't make it wrong. Nor would all of us build a truck for pulling contests, but that doesn't make the truck any less bad ass. As long as all of us can contribute ideas and learn something new, then we all benefit from the forum.

Ask anyone that has gone off road or wheeling with me and they will tell you that I detail the truck the day before. Yup that's right, I pretty much spend the whole day washing-clay bar-polish-buff-wax then shampoo the carpet and do up the interior. That's just who I am.

On a side note, I don't care what you do with your truck, meaning it doesn't bother me if you make it a show truck, low rider, buggy, or whatever. In my opinion, that's what makes it cool, seeing that there are many different takes and goals to the same truck. I've been here on this site from the beginning when a group of us decided to start the site, the one main goal was bring a site where we could be free to communicate how we wanted and not worry about where or how it got posted. With that said, I feel that we should still respect others and try not to get too out of hand with the comments as well as to take comments with a grain of salt.

One of the hardest things to do as a moderator is to moderate itself. Having to figure out when a line has crossed. As a mentor once told me many times before he passed "if it was easy, everyone would do it." It's not easy, not everyone will do the same as you. Not everyone will agree with you. We all want to do something different, and in some cases it can be so different that we don't know what to make of it and forget ourselves, and things can get out of control. Horseplay is one thing, try not to go too far, think about the image you make and how others will interpret it.

Don't worry 2011RPW, I feel I may be turning mine into somewhat of a mall crawler too. I bought the truck for it's off-road capabilities but it's never going to see Moab or anything near that serious just because of where I live. There isn't many off-road parks or anything like that for full size trucks around me in the midwest, just mud pits for mud trucks. So mine will mainly just see muddy roads and the occasional mud hole, small rock garden or a trip through some woods/fields. So I'm pretty sold on getting 18s for mine when my stock tires finally wear out, I would get 20s for looks, but I want to keep a good bit of sidewall there for when I do take the occasional trip off-road. Plus all my other friends that have lifted powerstrokes or cummins have huge obnoxious 20"+ rims on theirs for no other reason than for looks. It may look cool, but I know my truck would go 100x more places than theirs could ever dream of, and it'll still look damn good, even with 18s.

LOL, I guess my truck is a mall crawler too, bought it as to use as a DD with truck duty as well. I don't think i will ever rockcrawl, take it down tight jeep trails, try to follow mug boggers on 40"+ tires etc.

Red see's minor offroading, but to be honest I bought the truck due to its other options outside of it being a PW, the PW options were the icing on the cake for me.

At the end of the day I bought the truck for me and my needs, ppl will always have different opinions however I don't try to live up to them.

mine to is almost a mall crawler, I drive it to work everyday and the occasional 2hr trips up to lake Michigan but I also take it out in the woods for hunting and the muddy trails everynow and then. its hard for me to beat my truck when I know I still owe money on it lol and its my only vehicle. Everyone has a different job which means a different income and most the time it seems like that decides what that person does to and with their truck. I make enough to pay the bills for my family and have alittle left over for parts for the truck and my boat. I have no doubt once my truck gets paid off and I have a spare vehicle im going to put my wagon to its limits. but right now I need it for my dd

IMHO- I love this site because everyone does their own thing. I think in many instances it allows some of us to live vicariously through others either because we (me included) lack the guts/money/initiative to build out our own trucks. Personally, I looked for a LONG time until I found a primo example that was well taken care of. I intended to buy the nicest used PW I could find and in fact did so. Admittedly, I sweat it that the truck has been covered in a thin sheen of Rock-salt slurry for the last three months. BUT I use the truck for what it was designed for. However, I don't abuse it and respect it because it is my daily driver. Perhaps my favorite thing to do is pull up YouTube videos of OTHERS pummeling their PWs and show those who are interested. It's a great way to prove the capabilites of my truck without lessening the value. 99% of the time I use it to haul my kids to the baseball, football, scouts, etc. But it's the 1% of the time that makes me smile when I lock in the axles and climb and climb and climb....priceless.

The nearest "mall" to me is 2.5 hours away. I prefer to think of mine as an over equipped gas guzzling grocery getter.

Yep...that is me.

I use mine as a daily driver. Sees way more pavement than dirt but I tend to go off the beaten path now and then and would kill a lesser vehicle like a 1/2 ton. I tend not to do much body damage other than brush pin striping but the driveline gets a thorough workout now and then. My previous truck was an 02 Dakota QC that I SASed and daily drove with 4.88s, 35s, winch and lockers. It went where I wanted to when I wanted to with no excuses so the PW was a natural progression when I wanted a bigger truck. Still have it and it will end up a weekend warrior when i get a chance to fix the little things that piled up as I daily drove it.

Everyone asks me why I didn't get a diesel and I tell them because I don't like flat brim Monster hats, Tap Out shirts and white Oakley sunglasses. That and I don't drive or tow enough to make it worth while

True mall crawling back in the day with my two 1/2 tons, lol. Wish I could find the better pictures. Rocking the 18" centerlines and 35" Toyo's and BFG KM2's. Black truck was my true mall crawler. Never did take it offroad besides some logging roads.

After a trip to the Badlands. Seeing if it'll still flex with traction bars and clamped springs

Mine guards my driveway most days. Gets me to work regardless of winter weather, or if i have no other vehicle avail to drive. It takes me hunting. Fishing. Camping. Hauls my camper. Hauls my little utility trailer, sometimes with my atv on it, other times in the bed. It has taken me to many a store. But it has never taken me to a mall-----yet. I should really call my truck "Jack", as it is truly a "Jack of all trades" for us.
