Hey now, don't laugh!!! That's a state of emergency down here!!! (for real, our Governor declared a state of emergency, no joke) LOTS of abandoned vehicles sitting beside our highways down here (the DOT is going to start towing tomorrow from what I hear), IDK how well those vehicles will fair, several are buried under plow snow! One Toyota Celica (at least that's what I think it was) was so buried you could barely tell there was a car there!!!
So, of course, that meant I wanted to go cruise around and see how the Power Wagon does in the snow!!! It does QUITE well (once you shut off the traction control!) Also got to help out a couple folks, pulled:
A Chevy/Toyota combo: A Tundra was stuck in ice/slush/snow mix, a Z71 hooked up to it and got stuck too, along comes me, lined up the Power Wagon and pulled both at once!!!
A big rig: the driver tried to make a right turn and got caught up in the ice/slush/snow mix and didn't have any traction. I lined up and pulled the truck. I told the driver to put it into gear and help me (since I figured a big rig to be a bit heavy, LOL!) the Power Wagon was struggling so I stopped, got out, and went to talk to him, turns out he was in neutral! He said- well, it started moving from you pulling it so, I thought it was okay! I told him- no! put it in gear, help me out a little!!!! Good thing my tow strap is rated at like 30k lbs!!! LOL!
A BMW 3 series sedan: they were stuck in their unplowed alley like 20 feet from the perfectly plowed street! I couldn't find a tow attachment point so, this time I got the workout, I helped them push the car! Driver had clearly never driven in snow before, about ran me and the other guy that was helping over! LOL!
All the pulls were done with a 30k lb rated strap, hooked to a rear hitch mounted D-ring (clevis, whatever you want to call it) on my end and front tow hooks on their end, all as straight line of pull as possible and all in four low with front and rear diffs locked! (was spinning all four when the big rig (Freightliner IIRC) was in neutral!)
I was quite proud of my truck getting around as easily as it did, hardly had to use 4wd at all, mostly only so that I was driving more responsibly (not wanting to do a badass tail out slide in 2wd near people or other cars), was impressed today!!! A few pics (none of the sticks, bummer):
The Ram looking snow covered (this was less than half the snow since I went out running errands (and cruising!) last night):

My brother in law's Yukon showing all the snow (I should have gotten a close up, it was 4" snow, 1" ice, 2" snow!):

My bed, hauling around snow, LOL! (that's a 12.5" wide spare in there!):

Right at the first part of the snow, I had to get gas an noticed MTRKs leave cool tracks!:

Gonna be going up into the mountains tomorrow (Valentines weekend trip with the wife), we'll see how that goes, should be pretty scenery! (no offroading unfortunately, just highway driving, but should be nice sights nonetheless!!!)
