New wagon, need ideas
I just purchased (tuesday) a 2007 power wagon, loaded with leather, nav, everything I can find availaible on these things, It has a whopping 41,500 miles. I'm pretty excited. It's running 315/70R17 Firestone Destonation M/T's right now and stock everything. I would like to level it out some. I actually like mine higher in the front then rear if anything. Any ideas from you experianced guys with the wagon? I dont want crazy, just a little higher in the front. Will be doing some different tires and rims soon.

Re: New wagon, need ideas
There are many options Ryan. Cheap=spring spacer. Done right and provides better ride quality than stock=new control arms, new springs, and a new track bar. Oh ya and WELCOME!
Carl Scott: Black 2012 PW 35/12.50/17 Nitto Mud Grappler. Thuren control arms. Carli 3" Hmei coils. Carli Track bar. Magnaflow dual inlet/single outlet muffler. Front window tint. Clear Bra. Cold air intake. Hard wired lockers. All options but leather and dual climate
Re: New wagon, need ideas
Agreed! I recommend going with new springs, control arms, and a track bar. Carli and Thuren are among the best...

Re: New wagon, need ideas
Can you point me in any kinda direction as to what to buy? As far as size springs and all? Where as far far as control arms and track bars? I don't know much about the power wagon, I know it's supposed to be 2" higher then a factory 2500. What I can tell about 1" from suspension and 1" from tires, sooo are 4" springs like putting 3" on it?

Re: New wagon, need ideas
It all depends on how you are going to use the truck, and how deep your pockets are.
Re: New wagon, need ideas
Carli Hemi 3" coils will give a 3rd Gen about 1" of lift.

Welcome to the club. Get ready spend some loot. Lol. It's easy to drop money into these trucks. Hope to see you on the trail. Sounds like you found a good one with super low miles. Where do u live?

Cool, Whats the website for Carli and Thuren? I live in SC, Aiken to be exact
Re: New wagon, need ideas
Here you go! The Thuren site is very old and no where near current. You'll need to call or email to see what they have available. Also, 8 lug truck gear is a great site to buy Carli goodies. Call em up and ask for George. They'll give you honest answers and won't try and sell you stuff you don't need.

Re: New wagon, need ideas
Daystar makes a 1" spacer that levels the truck, keeps the stock springs (which work very well by the way), and allows you to do the most important upgrade, better shocks, for a lot less money. It's another option that will give you more improvement per dollar spent. Good shocks and bumpstops will do more for your truck than anything else by far.

If you think the stock springs are good you will crap yourself once you ride in a truck with Carli srings. I am still amazedCactus Red wrote:Daystar makes a 1" spacer that levels the truck, keeps the stock springs (which work very well by the way), and allows you to do the most important upgrade, better shocks, for a lot less money. Re: New wagon, need ideas
One more question for yall that have been through all this. I'm usually a spacer guy, so I'm up in the air on a 1" daystar and adjustable trac bar, or just goinga head and buying the 3" carli springs to try and get a little better ride. If I buy just the 3" springs and track bar, do I have to buy control arms? and what's the down side to not buying them if i dont? I dont want to be cheap about it but my pockets are not never ending either.

- If I buy just the 3" springs and track bar, do I have to buy control arms? - No you don't need the control arms.
- Just goinga head and buying the 3" carli springs to try and get a little better ride. - The springs will give a modest improvement in ride and about a 1" lift, but the biggest improvement would come from new shocks, do you still have the OEM yellow Bilstein's on?

Re: New wagon, need ideas
Yes I do, but they only have 40K on them and ScottWagon1 said he did the springs and kept his factory shocks on and still cant beleive the improvement
