New here
Hey everyone, I have been lurking the forum and decided I should go ahead and introduce myself. I bought a 2011 PW with 18k miles on it about a month ago. I have already put 2k miles on it and love it so far. I am though trying to get used to the mpg. First truck ever!! The previous owner seems to have known a bit about the truck because it is lifted to fit 35's and has running boards and lights up front. Here is a picture of it as it sits now.

Sharp looking truck. Welcome to the forum. I personally don't think that these trucks are any more of a money pit than any other truck out there. Just depends on the level of awesomeness you wish to attain

2005 Black Pow Wagon mods: DT Profab Steering Brace, Gibson superflow catback single exhaust system, Locker Bypass, Moog ball joints (see how long they last), New OEM track bar bushings, T-steering upgrade w/ Bilstein 5100 steering damper, Power everything, Heated leather seats, (keeps the better half happy), Rear window defrost, Bilstein 5100 shocks, 35x12.5x17 Toyo AT2 Extremes, Customized H2 alloy wheels, Original rock rails with family friendly steps welded on, Tri fold tonneau, Hi-lift extreme jack, Tool box along with all the essential PW gear. New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

Seems like every time I check something off my want list, two more pop up. Not sure how much more my wife will put up with.

My plan was to keep it how it was. But all your ideas are so good and I just want to start on them now. And yes that is how you should take it haha.

Nice pics, welcome to the site and hope to see you on the trail!
Love this and can't wait till I get to do this but have a long ways to go LOL.
"I'm often asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired?' Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most in life is converting beer, wine and good whiskey into urine. When my bladder is full, I go out in the back yard and piss on a photo of Obama. I do this at least once every day and I really enjoy it."

First truck ever.....and it's a P.W. Nothing like starting at the top. I had to work my way up from a 1976 Ford Courrier. 2wd, 4 speed, 80HP, no radio.

I am located in Houston, Texas. Depending on my job I will end up in North Dakota or Denver, Co. I sort of knew what I was getting into but I am learning a lot more as I read. Anyone know how I can tell if my truck has a tune? There is no tpms light on and I have 35's. I read somewhere that it would come on if you had 35's.flattire wrote: First truck ever.....and it's a P.W. Nothing like starting at the top. Wouldn't it depend on the pressure set points? Like any alarm?BMWS52 wrote:I am located in Houston, Texas. Depending on my job I will end up in North Dakota or Denver, Co. Re: New here
Welcome to the club there brother. For someone to pic the Power Wagon for their first truck is well... AWESOME... The only issue with this being your first truck is that you can only go down from here... The PW is king of the hill so you did good by getting the bestBMWS52 wrote:Hey everyone, I have been lurking the forum and decided I should go ahead and introduce myself. You have also come to the right spot for pointers on what you actually have. If you like to off road or want to try it out, then I would suggest going on one of the many excursions that we put on throughout the year. That way you can run with some of the other guys and suck them dry for all their knowledge on how to operate the PW.
Good luck and hope to see you on the trails.

Re: New here
Thank you! I have a quick question. When I put it in 4wd do I need to get out and turn a lock on the wheels or does it do that for me? The truck does not have stock wheels and I have do not have an owners manuel!!
Re: New here
No, you have direct engaged axles, you do not need to do anything outside the truck, just throw the lever in the desired drive you need and role.BMWS52 wrote:Thank you! I have a quick question. For the user's manual, try out this link, it should still work to download your user's manual.
