I know Thuren does an amazing job with suspension parts, but everything I've seen as far as a bumper goes doesn't do much for me. If I'm going to replace the factory bumper, I want it to stand up to things like hitting deer. For me Aluminess is still the best bet, but I just can't part with my money to buy one.

I haven't seen a Thuren bumper in person so I really don't know much about them. However, there is a lack of PW specific bumpers on the market and another option is a positive even if you choose to buy another model/brand.

I looked for a "non winch" bumper too and was thinking about just adding a hawse fairlead, I don't want it sticking way out in front of the truck.

I've seen Thuren's bumper on other forums. From the looks of it, there is NO problem with strength. It is gusseted and braced everywhere on the back side. It looks similar to the Mercenary bumper.

New AEV Ram Hood- looks kind of interesting to me. Still no official release day, but I thought I read somewhere it would come out in May.

It's a vented hood to get rid of heat under the hood. Look closely and you see the vents are pointed towards the rear.

Except the fact they use the factory intake, for the money, they could at least throw in a smooth tube from the box to the TB, I like it, but it is about a $250-$275 mod in my mind.
And I see no reason to have vents to remove heat, at slow pace they would barely work and I haven't seen any need to remove heat, the PW does a good job keeping temperature control.

That's how I feel about their suspension kit. Really, spacers? When we were buying our PW in Vegas we came across a dealership that had one of their AEV Ram's on the lot. 65K for a Tradesmen. They look real good. But I'd bet money most of the buyers aren't using them for overlanding and extreme conditions they market them as being for. But I will say this, their designs are beautiful. That bumper, is beautiful. No one else has put as much time into design of making a bumper that matches the Ram as these guys. And it's functional.

AEV Products are not inexpensive, that's for sure. I think it honestly depends on what you're looking for. Compare their bumper to Aluminess, and the price line is about the same. Also you can say that the Raised Air Intake/Snorkel is overpriced, but does anybody else make one for a 4th Gen Ram? While we haven't seen the price tag for the new Ram Hood, it's probably my favorite after market looking hood. While the AEV Wheels don't have the inner lip like our Power Wagon Wheels do, I still really like the looks of them.

I think the biggest issue/complaint with the AEV Product Line is the lift kit. It's not a suspension kit like Carli or Thuren offer, but if ordered through a Ram Dealership it's backed by the factory warranty. 90% of the trucks on the road today will drive to and from work, possibly tow a boat or a camper, and maybe drive somebody on a dirt road to a hunting spot where they will walk from there (that's exactly how mine is used). For those purposes, the AEV kit is going to be just fine. If you're cruising through the desert or a beat up road at high speed, then Carli or Thuren are going to be a better fit. AEV makes no claim that they were chasing the high performance people, they are looking for the Average Joe user, and for that market I think they are spot on. Again, not inexpensive, but most dealer's can't keep the AEV Ram on the lot's.

AEV's core customer appears to be dealerships. The bumper could be great if they spent less time focusing on dealership installation and warranty retention. Same for the intake.

One of my friends bought a TJ conversion 15 years ago, it was great. The Ram products aren't aimed at that customer.

It looks to me like the "spring relocation brackets" are installed under the spring and offsetting it to the out side.

I'd love to see one of their rigs on an RTI ramp to compare to the PW. Gotta admit they've got the stance down pat. Just like the bumper, you can tell a lot of thought went into the overall package.
