So a nice fall day brings a nice day in the woods, except for these damn lockers. Sway bar works perfectly, rear lockers kind of work, but the front locker isn't worth a shit. Some days I think I'd have been better off just to add lockers to my old 2004.

Part of me just wants to say screw the lockers, swap to an 11.5 rear axle and go with 5.13s. I think ARB makes an air locker for that axle...

I'm fine with the axel and the 4.56 gears, but I'm about to go nuts with these lockers. I damn near bought a Super Duty extended cab and put lockers in it, but my loyalty to the Mopar brand kept me from doing that. It won't happen that way next time.

I honestly think (but hope not) you may see the PW phased out in a few years. Key words for 2014 models are the 11.5" rear axle, redesigned front & rear suspension for more flex, 4.10 gears for slightly better fuel mileage, etc..... Note: those will be avail on standard 2500's. Usually, when an American Mfg. gets it right finally, they end production soon there after & blame it on us-the consumer, & say poor sales. Hope i am wrong. New 2014 PW seems fantastic. Wonder how much ? :cash: :cash: :cash:

If the lockers are the same in the 2014 as they are in my 2012 then the new Power Wagon isn't worth much in my opinion. I know everybody has the same issue as I do, that's why I'm looking for somebody way smarter than me who has found a solution to these lockers.

I don't know how much longer it will last, but the PW has of sorts become part of Rams flagship like the Cummins and Hemi engines. I think there is still some in-fighting at Ram HQ as to whether or not the PW will have 4.10 or 4.56. The Power Wagon name has become Iconic in a way. And as long as Ford has the Raptor and Chevy/GM keeps eying the Sierra All Terrain Concept, I believe it will stay. Hell, the dealerships around hear cant keep them in the lot.

The 11.5 rear is for all 2500's both Hemi and Cummins. Prior to 03 I believe, majority of 2500s(diesel and gas) had the 10.5 AAM axles before Ram beefed up the diesel line. This is really just a way for the Ram brand to stay competitive with the competition in the HD gas truck market(which makes up 50% of sales believe it or not).
