I wonder if those wheels have the inner beads like the stock wheels. The write-up doesn't mention it, but does your the hidden valve stem.

I'm struggling with the bumper, I like it a lot, it's perfectly understated, but it will be north of $2500 by time all the extras are added in, or I can line--X the stock bumpers, add a tow hook mounted light bar, & some fake ARB LEDs & you'll be under $1000.

But snorkel is done deal for now, just waiting...

I'm with you 100% on the bumper- I just can't justify the money for it even if it is cool. That's why I ended up doing my bumper and my grill (along with other parts) in Line-X, and then I decided to throw some LED's behind the grill (I wasn't sure I wanted a light bar). Doing the grill of my truck was around $200 and I think each bumper was between $200 and $250.

I like the wheels, but I'm not sure I like them $1,000 more than my stock Power Wagon wheels, so I'm on hold for a while with the wheels. The snorkel though is a 100% done deal as soon as it's available.

They mention a radius arm relocation bracket. I want to see what the system looks like bolted on to the frame. Also wondering how these newer trucks can handle flexing with a 37?

You all say that about the front bumper, but I don't know why? The price seems to be right in line with most of the other offerings out there. Design and development cost money and so do quality products. AEV, no doubt, makes a quality product. You've got to pay to play the game.

After seeing a few folks around my neck of the woods that have run into larger animals in the road and seeing the aftermath on the front of their vehicles, there was no doubt I'll drop a few grand to protect my beloved investment (and myself).

Juday---I think you mistook my comment on the price as disagreement of their cost vs quality or "worth it" factor--it's really a commentary on the wife's kick my balls threshold. I'm trying to retire soon & she's cutting off spending on bigger purchases right now until we settle down somewhere for good...Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Canada or back to Alaska for us!!

Look at page 8 of the install instructions http://www.aev-conversions.com/isheets/ ... -41215.pdf They do look a little bit wimpy in the pics, but rest assured that they are up to the task... or AEV would not be producing it, period.

Yeah I suppose. Just seems like with all these relocation brackets that are only bolt on, it could create weak points.

Oh it certainly can if they are not designed correctly. But knowing AEV, there are correct.

I kind of wish their lift came with more components than just a bunch of spacers and brackets... Especially for the money. That is why i went with someone else for my jeep lift. For the same price, i got 8 adjustable, stout control arms, two new track bars, and four coils, longer brake lines etc. instead of just spacers and brackets.

My comment about the price on the bumper isn't so much that it's overpriced but more because I'm running out of mod money for the truck. I have no issue paying for quality products, but I still haven't seen the exact bumper setup I want. I'm also concerned that the AEV bumper has a lack of skid plate protection and leaves the radiator too exposed. AEV has stated a skid plate is in the works along with a different front bar setup. Maybe down the road I'll go with the AEV bumper, but for now I'm low on fun money (I just ordered $1,500 worth of Toyo tires and that pretty muck killed the truck fun fund besides the AEV Snorkel).

Agreed. While I understand where they're coming from with the not wanting to make springs standpoint, I'd run softer springs no problem since I almost never tow anything. Should have options.

I've been looking at it a bunch & can't tell what the AEV bumper offers over the stock bumper other than that bull bar & shackle hard points, which is at the cost of forfeiting the tow hooks. The winch isn't integrated, so it will stick out more in a cradle, reducing approach angle. It may have tighter corners at the edges than stock reducing some exposure area, but probably not by much. Is it stronger like an ARB, lighter like an Aluminess, or is it (as I'm starting to suspect) maybe a predominantly cosmetic upgrade??? For me, function has to lead over form almost in every situation.

One thing I just noticed about the air intake... Anyone with or planning on the locker harness bypass will have problems... The box mounts right where the the tube would go through the inner fender from the looks of it.

Edit... I'm probably wrong. Just looked over the CAD drawings and it looks like like the tube runs along between the inner and outer fender from the factory opening front to back.

I thought the snorkel was a diesel only item at this time.

The orange truck appears to be gas.

It's gas- it's a Power Wagon. I think these guys are sponsors for AEV so they can get their hands on the parts sooner than us regular folks. That's kind of a bummer, I want one bad!

Man, that does look nice! I really like those Salta wheels and the RAI system.
