- I think the weight is the primary difference, ideally, the shock valving should be designed to work in conjunction with a specific set of springs. Carli uses different Hemi and diesel springs, Thuren uses diesel springs for everything.
Whoa, wait, Thuren's website lists Hemi & Diesel springs separately. Under the impression these are two different springs, not the same spring.
https://www.thurenfabrication.com/produ ... coils.html
They are the same springs Thuren just adds 1" to the lift measurement
(because the Hemi is lighter) to his diesel springs and calls them Hemi springs. Carli springs are actually different and offer the same height lift for both diesel and Hemi.
I don't know that this is the case for the new trucks. The 03-13 trucks he only had one spring rate for all trucks but he called them Hemi coils, the new trucks he separated Hemi and diesel coils. It's possible, but I would confirm wkth a Thuren. I do wish my springs were a little softer but I don't think anyone would ever care to have them softer than they are unless they were pushing for a real off-road performance application, and even still the diesel spring rate is close enough.
