Ok, so here we are. Well, it feels like a just put a whole new exhaust in her. This thing was pretty closed shut. Also a total pain to get off, I ended up using a grinder and cutting the tube behind the mate with the muffler.

She sounds like a real truck now!

For the time being, yes, but it's up for sale in anticipation of racing a different class that I think everyone on this forum will really like. The race this weekend is actually a vintage motocross race that some friends are competing in on early 1970's Husqvarnas, should be fun. I do want to get together with the local PW guys someday and get a trip planned out to some of my favorite desert trails... As long as nobody minds a little pinstriping.

That's awesome man! What class are you in/going to? I have a friend who has been an Engineer for King for a while. I never knew what suspension was until he turned me on to it a few years ago. He has the new Yamaha side by side and they used his to prototype their suspension for that line. It's not a trophy truck, but at 1500lbs and having 2.5's front and 3.0's rear, both with adjusters and IBP, that thing is the fastest, smoothest thing I've ever driven or ridden in. I have a lot of respect for people who build, tune, and run one of their own rigs.
I would love to get together with the guys out here. Obviously we are going out this weekend, but I'm not used to having to plan a trip two months in advance and still having half the people bail out. We are out almost every weekend during camping season, I'm happy to make a few of those trips with the PW group.

Very cool, I've been driving the class 3000 car pictured on my profile here for 6 years. About 2,000 pounds, dual shock (c/o and bypass) 2.0 front and 2.5 rear. The UTV's have come a long way but it's a whole new world with a purpose-built tube chassis. Short wheelbase and low center of gravity make quick work of the bigger trucks on the course but we can only really get up to 80 or so when the whoops get more than 2 feet deep. She's lots of fun but a full-size V8 truck is in the future, though I can't elaborate on the details just yet.
I grew up exploring the desert along the 15 and 40, lots of beautiful hidden washes near Ludlow and remnants of old mining towns and General Patton's training grounds out near Essex. I really enjoy finding things that aren't on maps and websites, it's a thrill to lay eyes on something lost in time to the remoteness of the desert. Which is why I bought the PW, but some places are too rough for it; Which is where a UTV makes it possible to get places only accessible by hiking or helicopter (Or motorcycle with a hell of a rider). Blows me away to see some of the places the old-timers drove their Model A's through... But anyways, it would be neat to get a desert trip together and go explore off the beaten path. It's what these trucks were made for.

I'm down

my favorite place around is the Mojave. I love exploring the desert. We should put something together now that it is cooking down.
Those cars are sweet man! That's awesome! Hopefully you can get into something even more enjoyable. Are you racing/testing sometime? I would be interested to check it out if that would be cool with you.

Absolutely, I've got a loaner helmet and love giving people rides. Funny to see everyone brace (and occasionally scream) for the first big hole or jump and by the end they're totally relaxed cruising through the desert at 100. I'll let you know next time we go testing, usually Barstow.
