Tis a joke about those kind of folks. I knew you were looking for bang for buck + performance. With the 4.88's and 37's I think you are going to be happy. I might of gone that route if I wasn't on the road. Hard for me to take the truck down for a week.

Also, pictures when installed or it didn't happen. Looking forward to the word on new tires.

Yup. I thought 37s would be a little too much since I tow a 30ft travel trailer. If it weren't for that, I would have 37s.

Copy will post when installed. Funny thing is the first real miles the new 37's will see is towing 6-8k LB trailer from Ohio to Virgina next week. Should have a much better feel if the new tires are shit or not.

That looks killer! Can you post a profile pic when you get a chance? Also curious about your suspension setup. I have a set of 37s (ko2 so they're smaller than your RT) for mine and am planning on keeping stock wheels so curious what you did to clear.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully these ko2 don't limit steering too much! If I'm not happy with the fit then I'll downsize to a 35. The 37s were destined for my play truck anyway but figured I'd try them out on the PW.

Well i had Nitto TG's on a 2003 w some Carli parts and the were a good tire. Not the best in some situations but ok all round not bad. The new tread on the Nittos looks decent I think. (Competitive market so I believe that most at's will work for most people). With that said our rigs are different than most...
As far as the go RT's I dig mine. Great road manners and the looks are top notch i think. They do rug a little bit on the Thuen control arms at full lock but as tire gets worn down I bet It gets less and less. I bet the KO's will fit real nice.
Now Its time for the aluminess rear bumper so a 37 spare can tag along!! Bet that smooths the street ride out.

Just word to the wise, 37's fit but just expect your inner fender liners to rub like crazy and tear up when you wheel. Ask GTOMike; and his is lifted.

My 2010 doesn't rub anywhere. But it barely misses, wonder if it's the hummer wheel offset....

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

The 37 KO2's are basically a large 35" tire. You should be fine.

Thank you! Thuren pw specific springs with thuren white body overland shocks, no wheel spacers, no trimming of the fender-wells or anything Very slight rub on the passenger radius arm at full lock/turn. Not enough to bother me. Yes they are m/t's 37x12.50 on the factory rim. Had a lot of people say I need a wider rim, but my opinion, they look great, I like to have some tire to rim protection just in case

Thanks for the update! How's the power loss/braking with the stock gears and the 37s?

For power loss.. A bit noticeable, probably won't win to many drag races. Lol. Braking.... It seems like it takes a little bit more room to bring it down. But it was all expected anyway.

Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

Post by adeluca73 » Thu Aug 11, 2016 12:12 am

Well Murphy's law struck again. The shop didn't call till noon to bring the truck in & I'm in the middle of moving right now. The house has been full of the packing crew since Monday & with a military move, I have to be present to supervise, & they didn't finish till nearly 7 tonight, after closing time. So the new plan is to drop it off first thing tomorrow morning before the movers show up to load out the house.
