35's fit on stock 2014 and later Power Wagon?

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

I think they would be a pretty dang good tire. Although fairly tame for a Super Swamper, they are still quite aggressive for a DD tire. Just dont expect a long tread life and I think you will be happy with them.

That's because you have aftermarket wheels with less backspacing. Put that tire on a stock wheel and she will rub.
Not true... I ran 35x12.5x17 Nitto M/T's on stock wheels for a while and never rubbed anything on the truck... Even with the 37's and aftermarket wheels I have now I have never rubbed the radius arms... Just the fender liners and drivers side sway bar...

Well hells bells, maybe the new trucks with radius arms have a little more room for turning... or less turning radius? Good to know.

I ran those tires on a Jeep TJ, but in a 35x13.50 size. Excellent highway ride, but a bit loud. Excellent offroad traction everywhere I tried them. They have a super soft rubber compound though, so they really had issues with chunking in the rocks, and they were worn out in 10,000 miles.

I've looked at those a number of times. It's an 80psi tire though. Definitely won't have a tpms issue. Haha.

The Geolandars are vastly different than what I would normally run and the sons of bitches will not wear out! If I wasn't in the middle of building a house right now, I would sell the Geolandars just to try something different. I have found absolutely nothing wrong with them, just time for something new. Also, I'm leaning more towards the Hankook Dynapro MT in the 37. It will come down to the time when I need tires and how frisky I will be then. :D

I've used this particular site a few times getting the feel for a tire. It might help someone when looking for consumer reviews. I agree with some of the tire reviews and disagree with some but it's still nice to be able to pick from many tires to compare...

Yep--use that site a lot to look at tires, for several different trucks I've had. That's how I ended up with the Copper ST Maxx on my F250 King Ranch over the BFG KM's that were on there, and saved about $500 too....

My experience with Super Swamper tires, I've had a few sets on previous vehicles, is that they are phenomenal tires for off-road use but they don't last long at all on a daily driver... 12,000-20,000 miles out of a set is about normal if using on a daily basis and on the road... For a non-daily or off-road only use vehicle they are great...

Had Super Swappers on a cheby I had years ago. Great off-road. Just ok on the road until it rained. :o Winter time. They needed about 2" of snow to work on the road. Mileage was only about 20,000 at the most. If I was going for more off-road use. I would really start to think about them again.

I had Trxus STS Radials on a Jeep and they were cooked in 10k miles. I had Trxus MT's on the same jeep and they were good for about 25k miles. I doubt I'll ever put another set of Swampers on a vehicle that is intended for the street.

Just installed 315 70 17 bfg ko2's, duratracs were getting really loud at 21000, their is no rubbing, still have a lot of clearance left. These tires are very quiet. they measure 33.3 with 65 psi in them mounted.

I've researched this quite a few times before but wanted to ask you guys before I pull the trigger, will my 2016 fit a 35x12.5x15 tire on a 17x8.5 wheel with 4.79 backspace and +1 offset? I want to be sure the truck will be able to articulate and turn without rubbing at any point. These are the wheels in question, should be dimensionally similar to Methods: http://walkerevansracing.com/products/s ... heels.html

From what I hear they will barely fit between the frame. However a 12.5 width will bounce on the differential when off road.

I had a long email exchange with Don Thuren who was extremely helpful even after I disclosed to him from the get go that I was not in the market for suspension parts and understood if he had no time for replying to my questions. In short, 37" tires will fit if you use a heat gun to flatten some of the fender liner, trim a bit of the fender liner, an trim some of the pinch weld near the front of the rocker panel and either: 1) use approximately 1.5" wheel spacers to retain the OEM wheels (was warned extensively to get quality spacers which is a no brainer on a 7200lb truck); or 2) use a wheel with appropriate offset (+18mm offset, the OEM wheel is +57mm offset). I am a big fan of keeping the OEM wheels so when my factory duratracs wear out 37" Toyo RTs are the plan with zero suspension modifications.

I spoke with Don quite extensively and this is what he recommended to me as well... I cut about 3" off the bottom of the liner and pulled it back as far as it would go and cut the pinch seam as far back as we could without cutting of the first bolt... I am running 37x12.5 Nitto Trail Grappler MT's on 9" wide Trail Ready Wheels with 5.8" of back spacing... I still get into the fender liner when the wheel is turned and stuffed in the fender... I also rub the heck out of my driver side sway bar at full lock... I haven't found that this rubbing is actually hurting anything but it does make quite a racket when it does...

I tried with a few different 35" tires and could not make it fit in the factory location... The only way I could get it to fit was completely deflate the tire and force it into the areas that it didn't want to fit in... To me that wasn't ideal so I just keep a full-size spare strapped down in the front of my bed...

Don told me the same thing. My 37" RTS will be here next week. Anyone want a set of OEM wheels and tires with only 400 miles on them? ;)
