I'm updated to 2011 and will do any PW member for free. Newer than 2011 I will need to purchase an update and would only charge for the update that I have to pay for to do it. To be honest if folks get a CEL light or Trans code and it is newer than 36 months then I never get to work on it and won't get paid if I look at it.

So you had no issues updating the computer to your new tire size using the Auto Ingenuity? I have 37's and need to correct for the tire size. I have a 2006. Are you in Arizona?

That's the exact tire I'm going to put on my 2012 when the time comes. I really hate these stock BFG's- they only have a few more months of life on my truck and then they are gone!

So basically the recommendation is to stick with stock 285/70/17?

I'm going to go with a 285/75, which is a pinch taller than the stock 33" tires, but it's not going to be so wide as to where I'm worried about the tire rubbing. You having a 2014 might be able to make the 35x12.50 work without rubbing, but I've also heard that the 2014's can't fit anything bigger than a 33" tire in the spare tire location, so that might be something to consider.

Sure no problem. A free meal is not needed though as I am glad to just be able to help. I think the issue is going to be making a time and place work for our different schedules. I say different because of I don't know anyone with my work schedule. I can also adjust the TPMS system for a lower PSI. Mine is set to 38 front and 32 rear for light load. I left the loaded mode alone though. I thought about raising it to 60 since my tires now are 65 when set at max psi. I think you said you had an 06 so I don't think TPMS will apply in your case.

I have only programmed my wife's 2001 Jeep and my 2009 PW so far. There are other settings like fog light with high beams and auto turn signal lane change and other stuff. Most of this stuff is buried in sub menus within the module menu. Some I don't know what they are or do because they only 3 letters identifying them with on or off as a selection. On the website for the tool they have a list of features but it is several pages long (Like almost a book).

This link will help to figure out some features but it is more of a hands on thing when you get right down to it. The links on the page help also.

Copy, so the 285/75 is about 1.1" greater in diameter (3.4%) over stock 285/70. Subtle difference, but I see why it's the choice most are settling on.

I will send you a PM so I don't keep hijacking this thread. Really would just like to adjust for tire size. And you are correct, no TPMS on 2006.

re. 285/75/17: Even though this seems to be a good compromise size to get near a 35" tire w/o rubbing & still able to fit in the spare area, there's a fairly scant selection in that size. A cursory look reveals Nitto & Falken in that size, along with the BFG MT's. So although that size makes a lot of sense, the choices seem pretty slim. Thoughts?

I use to run BFG Baja terrains on my Ranger in a 33 / 9.50R 15 size, they were called Pizza cutters by most racers. Worked awesome so I do understand concept.

I like a tall and skinny tire for snow. If there was a 35x11.50 out there that was a good A/T tire I'd give it some serious thought.

285/75/18=34.8x11.22 is about as close as you can get to a 35x11.50

That's what I've found too, so I'll be be going the 285/75/17 in the future. It's just a bummer the new Toyo R/T doesn't come in the 285/75/17, I like that tire.

From what I see there are only 4 tires made in that size, are there more that you've found?

Yeah, but unless you change your wheels you will need the 17". And of course, the tire gets and inch smaller.

My mileage went up not down after that not by just a little but it was nearly 2.5mpg on my Yokohama 315 (35") AT tires. I did however loose about .5mpg when I put on heavier Toyo AT 2 tires in a 35" an E rated tire.
Yes, I recalibrated for both the 315's and now the 285/75's, and verified at high speeds against a couple different gps units to make sure it was right... I think your truck has 4.56 gears, the 2014's have 4.10's and MDS... I think the 285/75's are the best tire for my combination.

That's what I've found too, so I'll be be going the 285/75/17 in the future. It's just a bummer the new Toyo R/T doesn't come in the 285/75/17, I like that tire.

No kidding. The R/T is awesome, looks, ride, steering, off road, rocks, sand, snow. If I keep this truck I will be going to one of these two. 285/75/17 in Toyo AT or 285/70/17 in the R/T. I've got 35" R/T now but it killed the mileage.

Good price on those!

Are you selling your '14? or are you saying if you keep it long term? just curious. I had a guy interested in mine, but no dealer (including the one I bought this from) could give me an honest price since it was rare. They could only go off of a non-PW price which was too low for me to even consider.

Back on topic: I just looked at the RT's in place of my Toyo MT's for Summer into hunting season. The feedback I have gotten through the shop has all been positive, however, nothing over 10,000 miles yet.

Yeah I wasn't too clear. I am going to sell or trade my PW. I'm going to need a diesel for what I'm going to do... I am getting some good trade values. Laramie PW are hard to find 14 or 15, you can find Tradesman and SLT's... If I were to keep the truck I would be going back to a 285/70/17 in the R/T. It is probably the best tire I have yet to run.
