Re: tire beads
i run airsoft pellets and 50/50 antifreeze mix in the 35s on my SASed Dakota and they balance nicely even with chunks of mud stuck to the rims after a day on the trails. I didn't weigh mine I just put 2 cups of each in when mounting the tires up.

Re: tire beads
I kept the rear 9.25, 4.7 and NV3500/233 combo and am running a Dana 44 front out of a Cherokee Chief, 4.88s and a grizzly up front, open in the rear for now till I figure out if I'm going to go bigger or not, had a lock right but it was starting to scare people on the sidewalks when it would engage/disengage with a BANG05PWrockcrawler wrote:Sweet. Understand that. What happened to your tranny? Mine acts funny sometimes but still rolling. Hope to get 200,000 before a rebuild. Your Dakota sounds like a slick rig

Re: tire beads
Had a small weep in the pan when I got it, drove it for six months with no problems and not enough seepage to worry about. Put another small dent in the pan about a month ago, didn't do anything at the time, seepage never got any worse but cruising down the road about 70 MPH rpms flared and I lost drive, still had 1st and 2nd though. Oil is right up but smells burnt and have no reverse/drive/od. Mechanic buddy checked it with his scanner and there were 11 different fault codes and pressures were low. He figures one clutch pack at least and maybe the solenoid pack.05PWrockcrawler wrote:Understand that. What happened to your tranny? Mine acts funny sometimes but still rolling.
