From everything I've read, the air bags are not available on the Power Wagon, only the standard 2500. They probably aren't long travel bags that would be needed.

Guys, thanks for your quick responses:
Yes, I'm recently reading, too, that the PW will not have the air bag option when the coils come out in '14. Yes, "behave" is a little subjective. I'm thinking about safety at highway speeds, coming off steep grades, side-sway, headlights in the trees, etc. That's ok because I've decided I'm not going to let the camper/payload issue dissuade me--get the truck first and deal with the payload issues (if any) later when they're for real and not theoretical. I'll I know is I'm not towing or hauling any big stuff and I want the best off-road capability, short of a jeep, I can get. I just got back from two days on back roads at 6-7000' (no snow!) with my old Dodge 1500 and I can't imagine not being able to do that without a decent truck.
Again, many thanks for all your great input.

Good thinking, you should not have any major issues with a 1200lb payload while you get used to the new PW/camper and put it to some real world use, and go from there to find any needs or wants. It will also take a little time for the aftermarket to catch up with the brand new coil sprung suspension.
Keep us posted.

Are the PWs going to be late 2014? I haven't seen any yet and they are not on the build your own section of the website.
Can't wait to hear some feedback about this rig!

I know the Power Wagon is usually the last thing to show up on the Build Your Own section. I'm surprised it's not up yet. However, I've seen some spy shots of the new Power Wagon, so it should be up shortly.

Will the new PW have the 8 speed ZF auto behind the Hemi? I dont know if it is rated to go behind
the 6.4, but it is behind the 5.7 in the 1500. That would help with mileage quite a bit (20%?).

I don't think so. I think you get the 6spd auto, which so far I've been really happy with.

It would be nice if the Aisin AS66RC trans was an option with the 6.4 in the 2500/3500 like it is in the Chassis Cab with the 6.4...
