Pretty much any vehicle that I have ever owned could be made to go into a traction slip hop resonance with the right combination of conditions - predominantly driven by traction and power output. In the two years with my 2014, I have only experienced serious hop once - and cleared the resonant condition by flooring it because it would have been unsafe to stop at the time. Most of the time we can let off the gas a little, regain traction, and continue on without losing much momentum. So my solution won't be to change the truck - but to learn how prevent it or quickly adjust and drive through it. I'm not gong to obsess about the hop - and certainly won't throw any money at it :D

This issue has been around long as I can remember. Anyone here ever do a hole shot with a '70's mid size cheby with a coil spring end rear? You're lucky to keep your teeth in your mouth. Everything is a compromise in ride, handling, traction, braking, load capacity, etc.

Have you ever seen the wheel hop on a 3 axle concrete mixer trying to back up a dirt incline. I've seen a few over zealous drivers snap an axle or two, lose a driveshaft or blow the differential.

Ooo, it's so pretty and clean. I wish I could get my undersides that clean again. But, what are you spying? The bilstein looking shock at the top of the diff? Do those things actually help?

Yes, that shock, that's a regular cab 2500 6.4 tradesman, had a utility bed but the guy says they order them bed delete and them put the bed on.

The problem is the bracket sucks. I've already had mine come off of it twice before I zip tied it.

Sorry to dredge up old thread but I see people have tripled up the Bilstein anti-hop shock. Has anyone tried replacing it with a single, equivalent travel 3.0 or 2.5 Fox or King shock?

King and Fox have dynamometers in their shops to test existing valving. They could test the factory shock and provide a stiffer valving profile. Or you could just go straight to a .020" stack and see how it does.
