4 and 5 will probably never happen but I think the biggest hurdle will be #3, especially after considering #1. LOL. I think 20+MPG is possible, but it's going to require a small diesel. I think the the 3.0L diesel with an 8 Speed and 4.10s would be an awesome package in the Power Wagon. I would strip mine back to stock and order one today if they produced it.

I've been in contact with Kent from AEV, but he's out of the office until January 6th. At one point somebody here said we wouldn't see much for 3 or 4 months from the expo (he took a ton of pictures around page two of this thread), which would put any kind of release around March. It's frustrating that they are waiting so long to release any kind of product information, but I still check the AEV website and the AEV forum every day. Hopefully we'll know more before March, but the good news is it gives me time to save some pennies and decide how much more money I want to put into my truck.

My thoughts were somewhat outside the box. I was thinking a new power plant like a 4.0>5.7 all aluminum MDS with turbos. Sort of an ecoboost type of evolution. Direct injection allows for higher compression and boost while MDS would allow for the 20mpg to be possible. Hell if they made an attempt and got my 12>13 mpg up to 17 with performance and weight improvements I would sure consider going for it. I think the 8 speed would allow for a better application of power as well as economy while keeping the gearing low for off road.

I'm just not sold on the diesels yet as they are still struggling with reliability in the emissions systems. If they were able to improve the emissions systems I would consider it.

I'm likely stuck with my truck (a good one to be stuck with) as it will be paid off in June and does what I need and much of what I want from it. Hey if i'm going to dream I say dream big!

As far as the AEV ram... I think you guys have them thinking of how the aftermarket can work for the Ram. Heck 37" with no lift would be awesome for the longer wheelbase 4th gens.

If/when they come out with the 5.0L Cummins in the Titan, it will have to pass emissions. That would be an even more awesome engine in our trucks IMHO. Just junk our whole computer, use the one for that engine, convert sway bar to manual ( http://www.offroadevolution.com/store/p ... O-NOLIMITS ) and hard wire the lockers.

If Nissan made it avail as a crate engine w/computer & emissions eqiup, they would prob sell quite a few.

That's why you take the fender flares, wheels, and bumpers and put them on our trucks with no lift and run 37" tires. Problem solved!

Latest post from the folks at the AEV Forum:

Actually we will be selling various parts long before complete vehicles. The Bumper is first on the list, and believe me, if we could just "sell it" right now, we would. There is a TON of testing to do first, the loads this bumper could see on the winch mount and tow hooks are no joke! So, we're doing that stuff now, but there is a lot more, everything from cooling to corrosion...and unfortunately it takes a while to develop a high quality component. The wheels are done, but it doesn't make much sense to inventory and release them without the flares and suspension, since they would be sticking out several inches...it all just takes time...well time and money.

Yeah, bumper testing requirements ARE ridiculous. Yet, when it comes to aftermarket bumpers, they are (almost) ALL pretty much stronger than stock bumpers.

Another comment from Dave with AEV. Looks like multiple wheel options are coming.

We are planning to have an entire line of parts for the Ram, no comments yet on what exactly.

As for the wheels, the wheel we showed at SEMA is very specific to a large tire with the flares, and that is the one that is done. We will offer other offsets for vehicles without the flares but they are not ready to be sold.

Here's a comment from Dave with AEV on their forum.
"For those who have asked, the overall height of the Ram Concept is 86" to the top of the Satellite Radio Antenna."

I'll be honest, when I was parked next to the AEV Ram today I noticed it wasn't a ton taller than my truck, but the ground clearance was better. The more I think about this truck the more I like the potential off some of its parts for our trucks. If memory serves me correctly, the 4the Gen Power Wagon is about 80" tall.

Sooooo……. I'm thinking (when they come out)- AEV wheels, 40s, and cutting my fenders!!!

I absolutely love the AEV flares but, since I already scrape my stock flares out wheeling, I think it's safe to say the trails around me are way too narrow for me to run AEV flares. Really a bummer since they look so dang good!!!!

I think it's almost harder for me living in Missoula because I've seen this truck in person. I'd love to get a release date and some pricing so I know what I should budget for. This truck has given me all sorts of bad intentions. I said from the start I didn't want to lift my truck, but I never said anything about cutting fenders and 37" tires...
