Do you not rub the rear of the front fender liners? Mine are very close, but I also have 0mm offset wheels.

Your tires rub the rear part of the fender well with the axle centered?myoung84 wrote:Do you not rub the rear of the front fender liners? Mine are very close, but I also have 0mm offset wheels.
I am getting some 0mm offset wheels (original ones I wanted were on backorder)
I am considering throwing caution to the wind as well and getting the 35s… well 34.4" is the overall diameter. Haha. Without the suspension upgrades, I know I won't be able to get full flex outta the truck when offroading, but for daily driver use until I am able to get into the suspension set-up I'm sure it would be fine.

No rubbing on the fenders at all, but it is really close. I know I took some pictures right after I put the tires on so I will see if I can dig them up.
Loving my 3/4 ton version of my old Jeep TJ!!!!!

I say function over fashion, and I dont care if it "looks lame" to anyone else but myself... but even if it does look kinda off to me bad ass performance always ends up looking good in the end.04Ram2500Hemi wrote:Here's a pic from the other day. I'm torn because I like the looks and the idea behind this truck, but I just wonder if 37" tires and no lift would look lame on our Power Wagon?

Re: AEV Ram!
I had to chime in about this AEV conversion.
First, I like it, especially if it retains stock suspension and other components, except of course shocks.
However, my takes on the 40" tires, as nice as it sounds, are twofold: (1) Lost braking performance, and (2) difficulty maneuvering increasing the turning radius.
I know with my own 35" Toyos, I've increased the turning radius enough where it's a bit harder to park in tight spots. I can imagine what some of you guys go through that have 37" including baking performance, or lack of. So with the 40", I would think these two aspects are magnified.

The turning radius is a good point, and one I hadn't considered. I know my 04 turned worse with 35" tires over stock tires, but I just got used to it over time. Yet one more thing to think about.AceMan wrote:I had to chime in about this AEV conversion.

Now what have you guys done to deal with decreased braking with larger tires?
On my 2006, I have EBC yellow with their slotted rotors. Day and night difference from stock, and it helped with the 35" tires.
Re: AEV Ram!
I have Power Stop d/s rotors with their HD pads. Night & day difference as well.

Re: AEV Ram!
I don't think the braking is bad with 37s. I had to make a panic stop the other day (blind curve, dummy stopped on it for no reason), thought I was gonna have to go into the ditch to avoid impact but, the truck stopped with room to spare!
The steering on the other hand (37s with stock wheels), SUCKS!!! I have the turning radius of an 18 wheeler! I will eventually be going aftermarket wheels and cutting the fenders until I have full room for them. (fender clearance is fine with stock wheels and 37s but, I rub the heck outta the control arms, I can actually stop the truck (at parking spot speeds) by turning the tires fully into the arms, lol!)

Even though my truck is 8 years old, I'm still keeping it. What I would like if I can ever do it, is a 2500 Cummins with the AEV setup. Then I can tow my PW with it!

Re: AEV Ram!
The only things that will motivate me to upgrade my truck to a new version is...
1) Direct injection with MDS and 475 HP minimum.
2) 8 speed with paddle shifters with sport and tow mode.
3) 20mpg highway rating minimum.
4) OEM 37" tires with puncture proof rating.
5) Dual fuel tanks because a spare tire is no longer needed.
6) Seats with... well some sort of decent design and support (sport or race seats?).
7) Everything my 2009 PW cam with originally.
Since they better fill all 7 things on my list... I'm betting my 2009 will be my first and last PW.
