If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

Should we have a separate topic area for member builds?

I think it would be nice to keep them all centrally located, probably easier to keep track of and follow, too.

That was what I was thinking. Everything on this forum is Power Wagon related anyway it would be nice to keep it in an easy to get to location. Only because we all know how well a search bar works. :P

I vote Yes - it will be easier to keep track of tech, builds, trail rides/PWGTG's/outings in separate locations.

While we are creating "Special Areas", can we make one for VerdySAR, so he can post about his Power Wagon Build Thread??

So, are we looking for the Members build topic to be a sort of garage, or gallery for each of us to have our own?

Yeah, I'm still struggling with the concept on this one too. So I see like the Cactus Red Mod Thread which I totally see making sense to throw into the new topic area, but what if I'm just posting about putting some HIDs on my truck, or a headache rack, would that still go in Power Wagon Talk or would that go in the Member Builds? Or would the thread about the HIDs go in Power Wagon Talk and then if I had a build thread in the Member Build topic area, I'd add the HID install onto the end of that as well?

I guess my question really stems from the issues we had on DT with mods moving our threads. So here's my ultimate question then. The more Topic Areas we have the more modding that's going to go on because people will post in the "wrong" topic area. And at that point, are we any better than the mods at DT, or.... Is it a different situation because this whole forum is dedicated to PWs vs DT where our thread might have gotten moved to say, Trails and Trips which was a general Topic Area for all of DT and most PW members on DT didn't venture outside their 3rd or 4th gen PW Talk topic area?

Plus the more granualar we get with Topic Areas, then what do we talk about in Power Wagon Talk topic area.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It's different here, because we're all PW's. Granted, we'll have visitors and members that arent, but our topics and threads won't get thrown halfway around the world, where our boys will never see it again. I say don't go overboard, but we do need the orginazation that you are so flawlessly executing. I'm already liking the layout and different areas. Just keep it simple.

If someone wants to post about putting a headache rack on their PW, put it in the general area, and if they want to add it to their "Build" thread also, they can.

It would take a long time with all the pics and everything to write up a build again. Is there a way we can get them from Dodgetalk???? I would like to put my rockrail build and my rear bumper build on here so members can use the thread for ideas.
