"No trailer" dash light

Post by olyelr » Tue Jul 18, 2017 11:37 am

Anyone seen it before? Anyone know what the heck it means? I could not find it in the cheap manual that comes with the truck.

Two things you can try. Pull the trailer plug and then reinstall the plug to see if the light goes out. Or turn the vehicle off and then back on to see if it goes away.

Forgot. What it usually means is that you were hooked up to a trailer and now you are not. It is informing you to check the trailer plug to make sure that it is connected.

I have seen it when I disconnect my trailer when the ignition is still on. Turn the truck off and then back on, it should go away.

It means no trailer brakes. The "( )" symbols represent brake shoes that of which is used on drum style brakes.

What everyone here is saying. I've unplugged the trailer connector a few times while the truck was still running and that icon always shows up.

Yep, that certainly makes sense as I noticed the light right after I unhooked the travel trailer (with the truck running). Pretty nice feature I guess, as long as you know what the hell the light means!

Thanks, fellas!
