I would talk to Don at Thuren, he set me up with a suspension upgrade that will accommodate 37" if I decide to go up in size. I know he has set up a lot of other guys as well on here so I know others will agree.
Don will set you up with what you need.

It's getting close to the time for me to replace my 35" Toyos (they don't want to wear out) and I'd like to go to 37s on my 3G with no additional lift. Had the bright idea to buy a used 37 (or two) off Craigslist and then test fit them before ordering new tires or suspension parts. At least in So Cal there are lots of cheap 37s on CL. Found a pair of 37/13.50 Toyo MTs for $85. Did not buy that pair but I know I can get something like that on short notice and see where they rub on my truck, then adjust accordingly before I spend big bucks on special order tires.

You can do it with as little as 3" as long as you do the .5" longer wheel base rear spring and the 0.46" longer arms up front... W/O the factory bumper. Otherwise you will need to look at a 6" with upper travel limits to protect the bumper and rear fenders from damage.
The deciding point is do you want lift or articulation. When considering a 3" from Don with the shorty 12" shocks front and rear, this combination can net you maximum articulation with the above changes.
If you go with a 6" the entire game becomes a sandbox of compromises and exponentially higher cost. Like he said... talk to Don at Thuren fabrications and be painfully honest with what you need/want and he will point you in the right direction even if it is not a product he sells!

If it was my truck I would get at least a 6" lift (4" PW) and thinner control arms to deal with the tire width and you should have adequate clearance for most any off road situation.

thanks guys, good contact there to. I check with him. I might need to think about the future also because I might decide to go to 38" toyos later.
