Fuel filter is in the tank as far as I know. Like a screen/sock over the fuel pump, IIRC.

Now this shows a separate one on the frame rail.

Yea there wasn't an external one on my 2010 5.7 Hemi either. It's not a maintenance item. The days of fuel filters are passing. Used to be something back in the day you'd change after like 100k.

Thanks for your Answers.

Will find a Way to cut in the Fuel Line and build a bracket for a Filter....somewhere under the Bed i think is enough Room.

Will prevent issues.
My Fuel Filters are black inside after about 25000km on my other vehicles.
So there is definately Dirt in the Fuel.
So without filters all the dirt goes throu the injektors.
I dont want that

No outside the tank fuel filters on fuel injected vehicles for a long time. All have been inside the tank. Some look like a sock, others may look like a flat square or round pancake. If you are planning on adding a outside the tank fuel filter. Be careful, because you are dealing with fuel pressures over 50 psi. Some systems are at 100 psi. A plastic filter will not handle the pressure. If you just cut the metal tubing and slip rubber hoses over the ends, and use hose clamps. Chances are that it will leave you walking. The pressure will push the rubber hose off the tubing. Seen it happen.

If you truly have "dirty" fuel, then fix that by getting your fuel somewhere else and solve this problem at its source. This is a much better and safer solution than trying to add an external filter.

I have an external 2 micron fuel filter on my ctd...larger than a typical gasser oil filter. Of course the injectors on a high pressure common rail diesel are subject to much more abuse than a gasser.

I've looked into doing this myself, the cleanest method I've come across is using a -AN to pushlock adapter either at the tank or the fuel rail and plumbing an inline filter between the stock line/components or if you want to go completely overboard do an aftermarket fuel system from fore innovation, starting with dual pumps in the oem position and run forward with -AN hose and billet fuel rails etc.
