2012 Power Wagon Locker Bypass

Post by cws324 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 7:42 am

Hello, I am told someone on this forum sells a plug and play locker bypass gizmo for the power wagon. I am looking for one to put on my 2012. Thanks.

Ok so from what i can fiqure out nobody makes a plug and play kit. I guess the only way to do it is to splice the wires with a switch. Would rather not do that for warranty reasons being that its brand new but thanks for the info. If someone starts making a kit I would buy 1 for sure. Thanks.

I to looked. There isn't anyone . From what I heard there is also a issue of when the truck is in 4lo, or thinks its in 4lo due to this bypass, the compute remaps the throttle so there is some crazy lag when you press the gas. I'm going to wait a few thou miles then just rewire the lockers with two seperate stsp switches. That's what I really want anyway, is to use them when I want and how I want and not how RAM will "allow" me.

It's not an issue, it's how it is designed. It provides a lag in throttle response so if your foot is bouncing on the loud pedal while you are bounding from rock to ravine the engine doesn't surge. It basically provides smooth throttle when you can't.

I didn't mean it was a glitch, just a negative side effect to " tricking" the ecm. What may be a ok/good thing for 4lo sounds like a bad/negative thing in 4hi. Personally here in the south the dirt and mud we typically encounter require crisp throttle control where a lag could mean sliding or getting stuck. Hence the original reason for needing the lockers in high range to begin with. People with carburators spend hundreds on a crisp throttle and smoth running setup. Therefore I can't trade one issue, the no lockers in high range, for another different issue, throttle lag when in high range. Just My two cents fellas.

I've driven around a little with the locker bypass enabled in 2Hi and it drove just fine. There was a small lag but nothing terrible.

I agree, the difference I'd negligible. It really just keeps you from bouncing on the throttle. I hardly notice a difference. I had mine on for two years or so and use it regularly.

How do I rewire the lockers on my 2014 PW. I had then done by a kit on my 2010. But I can not find any info now. New to the fourm.

No options I have found. There is a kit in the vendors section which I have been trying to buy since May with no response.
