Tcase shifter movement and popping out of 4x4?
So my 09 3Gen is acting up. When your driving the tcase shifter seems to move excessively forward and backward when I floor it. And when I'm 4x4 any bumps or wheel hop at all pops it back into 2 wheel drive? I changed trans mount today thinking that would take care of it but no change! Any ideas?

Mine has this kind of set up: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2723452676 ... noapp=true
There were a lot of people with 3ed Gens having this problem when new, popping out of gear. I had it happen 2x myself. Crawled under the truck, removed the t-case skid plate & checked the bolt. It was not tight at all. I could feel a burr on the adjustment rod & figured it must have been in that spot from the factory. Put it back to that spot & tightened it up. I have had no issues since, even on VERY ROUGH terrain.
Might be a good idea to pick up an extra set of those 2 rubber/plastic bushings for spares. I need to get some myself. I have read that the rubber ones were stock & prone to squishing & breaking & falling out. I think the poly ones are the upgrade, not 100% sure though.

The movement is normal. Popping out of gear, on the other hand, is not.

Re: Tcase shifter movement and popping out of 4x4?
THe shifter moving back and forth a bit is normal when say on then off the throttle. It's just the linkage adjustment. The detent is all inside the tcase and has nothing to do with the lever. I rebuilt my tcase and the thread is floating around on here somewhere if you want to see what's inside doing all the magic
