Yokohama G015 315/70R17
The stock Duratracs finally gave out after 25K. Might have gotten another 5K, but the snow and ice made the decision easier. Looked around for a bit trying to decide on what brand. One of my deciding factors is that the tire should have the severe snow rating. The G015 does have it. Next was the size. 285/75R17 was an option, but I didn't want to have 80 psi tires. Since I tow during the spring, summer and early fall months I just did not want to have the rough ride when the trailer wasn't in tow. Max psi of 65 in the 315s made more since. Plus they were cheaper than the 285s!
Tires were mounted this past Thursday. Have had them on packed snow and ice. The Yokohamas have dug in to those conditions better than the Goodyears did when they were brand new. Spend more time in 2wd than 4wd. On road ride has greatly improved. Going over potholes and speed bumps is much smoother. I would say this is due to a wider footprint and more sidewall. Ride is also a little less choppy when going over the expansion joints on the Interstate. Do notice that the 315s are heavier.
Some interesting observations. The eco light comes on way more now than it did with the 285s. Transmission stays in gear longer than before. The big Hemi seems to be happy lugging along between 1400 and 1600 rpms. Not sure about the mileage yet. Temperatures out here in Colorado have been wild. Once it settles down it will be easier to figure out the mpg's. Acceleration and braking haven't changed as far as I can tell.
Like many on here have said 315s fit on the 2014+ trucks as though they should have come from the factory. There is absolutely no rubbing anywhere while on road. Haven't been off-road yet with these tires. I would hazard a guess and say rubbing won't be an issue off-road either. A 315 would fit perfectly in the spare location if it wasn't for the heat shield. It definitely needs to be aired down to fit in there. Lastly, I know if there aren't pictures it didn't happen. They are a coming.

I didnt think my 315 was going to fit in the spare either, but i purchased one and it fit snugly without being aired down. Took 15 minutes to mount in straight. I still have an 1/4 gap form the heat shield as well.

Here are the pictures.
This one shows how close the tire comes to the back of the wheel we'll. You could put chains on.

Apparently my other pictures are too big. Guess I'll have to shrink them somehow. Good to know that the 315 will fit in there. If I push my tire back and to the right it may just slide in. I checked the mounted height and mine come in at 34 inches tall.

Here a shot of the tire near the sway bar. There is more room than it appears.

Here is a view from the top. Unfortunately you can't see the swaybar.

Thanks for the review. If you resize your photos so they are less than 1 MB each you should be okay to post.
I think there may be some others on this forum running Yokohama's. One of my former co-workers has had them for years on his plow truck (crew cab 1-ton long-box Ford).
It sounds like they last a long time, are pretty quiet on bare roads. I'm not sure how they do in the mud and/or sand...

This is a side shot. With the stock wheels this tire really does not bulge out at all.

Okay, now that I have had the tires on for a bit here is a review. Even though the tires have a wider footprint than the 285's I feel that they don't wander anymore than the 285's did. In fact it feels as though I am not moving the steering wheel nearly as much. Which means less fatigue on long trips. So far the wear seems to be good. I will have to give a long term review on that. The Goodyears did not wear well even though I got 25K out of them.
I got to play a little on some deep snow. Roughly 12 inches. Also had a chance to drive on some ice and hard packed snow. The truck never spun a tire. It gripped quite well in those conditions. Very impressed!
Now for the mileage. This always drops a bit during the winter time. If you read my first post you'll remember me saying that the truck stays in 6th gear longer than before. The eco light also comes on more now. After one tank with the 315's being on my mileage is on par with the 285's. Just finished driving over 300 miles. A good percentage of that was driving up and down several mountain passes. The uncorrected number was just under 14 mpg. Not bad at all for going to a bigger tire.
Will keep giving reviews for a bit.
