CEL stuck in 1st and 4th gear
Did remote start, truck shut off. Now have a CEL and truck will only drive in 1st and 4th gears. Ideas?

Transmission limp mode, you can google it.

Before you panic check battery voltage and check to make sure cable are tight and clean. I've had a truck hit limp mode just because the voltage was too low. Even though it ran and started. But yes tranny is in limp mode.

Ya, I thought it was suspicious that it happened right after a remote start in the cold morning. It's at the dealer will be interesting to see what they say.

Darn, not having the best luck with Chrysler products. Dealer tech is saying my PW may need a new transmission valve body. Does anyone know if that can be replaced with the transmission still in the truck or require dropping the transmission? Truck only has 6K miles on it.

Valve body is accessible when the pan is removed. I guess they just replace the whole assembly when something goes wrong with it?

The whole thing is solenoid driven, so maybe they swap it for new since it's under warranty rather than troubleshoot it. Ya I am curious how long I will be without a truck. It took them six days after dropping it off to start looking at it. Granted there was a Thanksgiving in there, but still...

Crap. Transmission valve body needs replacement which happens to be on a month backorder. Fun times.

on my 2010 jk my trans went out at 9k miles and it was a month on backorder. Ended up being closer to 3months all during deer & duck season. All they had for loaners was minivans! Needless to say I took that sucker places no soccor mom ever would!!! It sucked but they did make 4 payments while it sat in shopZybane wrote:Crap. Got a 2015 diesel RAM 2500 rental. Holy hell, the ride on this thing is horrible compared to the Power Wagon. Being a diesel, the engine should be louder but it's MUCH more noticeable in the cabin.

I had an 06 pw and an 07 2500 cummins and 07 3500drw mega cummins all at the same time. The 2500 rode like a dump truck. It makes no sense. The pw rides awesome and the mega dually rode a 100 times better than the 2500. But jumping from the dually into the pw was a huge change. The pw always felt like a sports car after the diesel. Always felt toss able and nimble

Ya, not sure what magic they did on the PW. It rides amazing for an off-road pickup.
