No Feakin SuperChargers!

Post by Langship » Sat Nov 12, 2016 3:27 pm

Why is there no Supercharger kits for the 2014 and up Power Wagon or 6.4 powered 2500's?!!!!

Truthfully, there is nothing! Im ready to trade it in. I love the truck, but I want MOPOWER!

No shorty headers, nothing!

Arrington says they can build me one for $11,000, but I have to drive from CA to VA or ship it, and wait 3 weeks!

Sounds like should have purchased a diesel instead if your looking for lots of power, or a hellcat. The powerwagon is no 1/4 mile monster if that is what you were expecting.
2011 Power Wagon.
Thuren 3" diesel coils, Thuren swaybar, Thuren trackbar, Thuren Fox 2.0 resi shocks, Thuren LT Leafs, Carli chromoly control arms, Carli stabilizer. Bullydog with Hemifever tune, Moes 87mm TB, Corsa DB exhaust, Oil catch can, PIAA fog lights on KC light bar, Carli rock crusher guard, Boogie bumps, Aux switch bank. More stuff to come if my wife allows it!

Hey nothing wrong with MOPARWA! LOL!..if you want it and if you can find it.

Custom tune should get you some gains, right?

As far as a supercharger for the 6.4 goes....Prefix puts a supercharger on a 5.7L & 6.4L that they shoehorn into their RAM 1500 Minotaur. If I recall correctly, the SC 6.4 make 625 hp at the wheels. They just recently started to offer that.... You might want to contact them and see what SC kit they use?
If it can be done for a 6.4 shoved into a 1500 then it should be able to be done to a Power Wagon?

Or, if you gotta have something right now, if you don't mind "downgrading" to a 1500 and would like a turnkey, RAM 1500 Raptor killer, you can always just buy a Minotaur with your choice of NA 5.7, NA 6.4 or NA 7.0 HEMI... or SC 5.7 or SC 6.4.

I know for a fact that they offer the SC versions, got it from the horses mouth but I'm not sure it's on their website yet.

http://www.prefix.com/Index/Minotaur

If you dont mind waiting for just a little longer, I have a very good feeling RAM will build the Rebel TRX.

Good luck!

You have an intake available, long tube headers, tuners, and torque converts available. Pretty much everything but forced induction. The gains on this though are nothing to laugh at, you are looking at at least a 40 hp gain with those.

Where in CA are you? Have you talked to magnuson out of Ventura? They might be willing to whip something up.

What about Whipple superchargers? They are out of Fresno, CA. They do not yet have a 6.4L kit but, I bet they would develop one.

So Magnuson has a 6.4 supercharger: http://www.shophemi.com/p-2312-392-hemi ... arger.aspx

Let me ask you guys a question. What's stopping a guy from getting one of these for his PW and then have it custom tuned?

Well I guess it can be done. Heres a Supercharged 6.4L 2500. Check out the video, that SC whine sounds so cool.

Just a word of caution about Magnuson. They are great on the front end and seem to want to help, but they have trouble with the Mopar computers. They never could get our JK to run right. Even sent out their tuner, still couldn't get it to drive smoothly. Tried several more times, they even swapped tuners. Never could get the flat spot out of the 2500-3000 rpm range. (Right where you drive all the time) I finally got fed up with it. They agreed to take it back and refund our money. Then they kept stringing us along. Oh it needs to be inspected, well it just got here, they had had it for several days. Then they said the original company was processing the funds, so I called them to check, they knew nothing, hadn't even been contacted about the issue. Even though Magnuson said they had all the paperwork. Finally I had to go through the credit card company. They figured out Magnuson was trying to delay the refund till we couldn't do anything about it. So we contested the charges, and waited for a response. Never heard a word from them. Finally got out money back. Shady underhanded dealings. I'll never do buissness with them again.

Well that sucks. Glad you got refunded! However, this particular truck in the video above was done by Airington with the magnuson supercharger...

A supercharged 6.4L Power Wagon looks like a $20k project. I don't see the appeal, there are much better places to spend the money on the platform. I think the 5.7L older models would be a better starting point if you're going to do this right.

They didn't give me my money back, I took it back after they tried to screw me. I wouldn't use any of their parts, that just allows them to continue. Bad business practices shouldn't be tolerated. I'm not the first, unfortunately probably not the last they tried this with.

That SC whine sounds like a siren in that video. My wife thought I was watchin cop videos on u-tube ! LOL

That being said, the HP & Torque #'s are spot on for what I would want to the rear tires for towing.
