Dropped my truck off at the dealer today for airbag recall and also tie rod end recall. Asked about tranny service (with filter replacement). Yep....$450.00. Now I didn't ask if it included tax or not but really? I've done it once before myself. Yes...messy and you have to clean pan/tranny . But, if it took 4 hours to do it would be like paying yourself $75.00 / hour.
Also, they wanted $130.00 to look into SERV4WD light that comes on and off while driving. Light came on/off twice during 80 mile freeway drive yesterday. It's off now so I will wait on this. Replaced transfer case position sensor and it got somewhat better but not fixed.

If you're ambitious do the transmission yourself, I just did the same thing a few months ago on my 07 with Mopar filters purchased at a discount on ebay and aftermarket ATF+4 fluid for about $100 total.

I figured about $100.00 for parts. Who did you get filters from?
Nobody there that I wanted to spend time with. Service writer was older bald guy.
I will suggest that maybe they get some Thailand "ladyboys" to entertain customers while waiting for tranny service.

I went to Walmart and spent $10 or $15 on a low-profile, wide plastic bin that was able to catch fluid spilling from all edges of the tranny pan. Didn't get a drop on the driveway, and it made the whole exercise a much cleaner job.
Too bad I didn't install an aftermarket pan with the drain bolt for next time...

You can buy a threaded bung you can drill into your factory pan. I've done it on a couple trucks. Made it fairly tight and used jb weld to seal it up. One truck has had it for 6 years and about 200k miles. The other about 2 years now and 100k miles. $20 drain plug. Bought it at a parts shop. Cannot for the life of me remember what the part number is but they should be able to search for it. Really fixes the mess issue

Saw a DORMAN replacement oil pan (#265-817) with drain plug. About $35.00. Thinking about getting one of these.

If you do it yourself, be sure to check, and remove the old sump filter seal. It will not come off when you pull the filter, you'll have to dig, pry, and cuss it to get it out.

I did replace my seal too however the factory manual does say you can reuse the old one if it's not damaged.

Update: Job done. I thought I was ready for the fluid to come out.....until fluid started dripping from the whole side of pan. At least it was room temp. It's been 5+ years since last mess. Now I remember why.
Cost about $100.00 ... filter kit from Ebay link ( see Coder response above) about $50. Rest if ATF+4 .
Also got DORMAN pan with drain plug for $30 delivered from Rock Auto. #265-817. Fit perfect, heavy gauge metal. Gonna love that drain plug next time.
Re: Auto tranny service.....$450.00.
