Black-to-chrome headlight bezel transition?

Anyone notice that some of the 15' PW's came with black bezels (mine are all black), and others with chrome? FCA looks to have discontinued the black bezel headlight assembly's for the 16' production year on forward until possibly 17' with the new PW, which prior to that they continually stated they were on a national back order. I noticed this is a big deal on the Rebel forums, does it hold the same weight to any of ya'll with 15's or 16's? It's a small issue, but in a way, it's still a very unique aspect to many 'critical' buyers.

Headlight trim ring. Didn't know if anyone else noticed, I only looked into it after reading about it on the Rebel forums.

The internet says the black trim ring was discontinued because the paint bubled off from the heat of the projector.

FCA has stated it was a part number mishap, manufacture couldn't keep up with production, and/or ease of production by outfitting specialty vehicles with standard chrome bezel. Now bubbling paint!?

My late build 2015 has the black bezel.

I always thought it varied with what type of package the truck has... Tradesmans and SLT's seemed to have the black, while the laramie had the chrome. Maybe that isnt the case, though. I never really payed much attention to it i guess.

He's talking about the ring around the projector itself. The SLT has a black rear housing while the Laramie has chrome. I would prefer all black headlights myself but it isn't an option unless I want to buy a set of custom Retroshop lights.

Tradesman trucks get the quad-halogen headlights. No projectors for them.

Never paid it much attention either but going back and looking at pics, my 14 SLT had the Chrome bezel and the 15 SLT has the black bezel...

All black looks a little weird to me just because of the orange sticking out there.
