Of course I would get a complete axle. Link I posted supposedly is complete axle with locker and everything.
One I found for my truck even had like new calipers, pads, and rotors.

I dont get that link, is it in Canada? It says an assembly is available and to click here for details, I do but it doesn't do anything on my end.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Yes. Got to give them a call. Somewhere in Quebec. I found them on car-parts.com (axle assembly fr).

I honestly doubt you bent a c.... I mean it's possible but they are welded properly and forged so I doubt it. Way more likely you loosened the tubes. Probably not going to have a leak with such a minimal bend because the axle seals are inboard on this diff. I hope you can find a housing! Wouldn't hurt to look into a diesel one like I suggested also as long as it is from a fourth gen it will be okay. I know it was mentioned that it shoukdnt be done because of our knuckle placement and a different caster but I don't know if that's 100% accurate on the newer trucks. Because your running aftermarket arms meant for a diesel and what not anyways...

Yep, I've been told mine is too far out to try to straighten, will have to get a new housing at the very least.

Colibri wrote:Not sure of any way to accurately measure the c's while the axle is still under the truck. Call the nearest dealership parts department with your vin number and get accurate part numbers for bare housing and complete axle then order for way less online. If you do a Thuren or Carli truss you can weld both on a complete assembly even with the axle in the truck. If you want one like mine it needs to be a bare housing and drop shipped to creative fab in California. Haha I know how it goes, breaking=upgrade time! Shit, mopar discontinued the housing for my 09, it took me months to find an axle. Good luck with whatever you decide to do man!
Well, I'm running into dead ends. The parts numbers are floating around on the web but no parts, called the dealer with my VIN and they said the assembly is no longer available. A housing for a newer, say 2012 or 2013 runs $1600 and he couldn't confirm fitment and couldn't find any in stock anywhere in their database and who knows when they will get one. I even looked into having Dynatrac build a new one but that would be mucho dinero and I would have to send them my housing to cut off the ends, coil buckets, control arm brackets etc... to reweld to new assembly.

So...who wants to buy this mother fucker? About another week of this bullshit and it will be traded in and I'll call on yall for some stock parts and strip the goodies out of it before it goes.

Get a diesel axle off eBay and get it trussed, swap your gears and locker and turn that frown upside down. I bought my rear from these guys and it went smoothly. There are quite a few others available on eBay too.

i still say make an insurance claim. bring it to dealer and let them bid to get it fixed. then go negotiate for a new truck, settle on a price, then have them give you a trade-in value on your truck with your bid from service. that way you can drive away in a new truck and let them sit on their ass acquiring parts attempting to fix it and you won't have to worry about it no more.

X2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter what broke it... the insurance is responsible to pay for it. They in reality are protecting the bank that lent the money they care nothing about you or your issues at this point. They will have to fix or replace it to protect the lender. This is why the bank reqires full coverage.

I hit a dead dear laying in the road (pick a remote less traveled location) The dear must have been hit earlier that night. I didn't realize it at the time but it did ????? to my truck. They will have to fix it!

The diesel axle has a different pinion angle and no hole for the locker connector to be mounted to. I would not go that route.

Do any of you know if a 2012 is the same as a 2010? I found a 2012 but damn they want a pretty penny for it. I called the guy and his data says it will not fit a 2010 or 2011....???

Pinion angle is a non issue really but the electrical connector is a problem. People install power wagon lockers in diesels frequently enough though, so it can be done. As far as I know any of the axles are physically interchangeable with minor variations. Some have larger caster cam bolts etc. so a 2012 will bolt right in place either directly or with a little work, but I have no idea if the electronics portion of the locker uses the same resistance values etc.
