Yea I wanted a manual in my Corvette and GXP, not in my truck personally.

I just went over Eisenhower tunnel last week with only luggage and passengers and my 05 was not great but ok. revving out at 5k rpm's kept my speed up to 60-65 mph all the way up. Still had little 6 cyl rice burners blowing by me at 75 mph though. I figure if I really wanted uphill/towing power, I would've bought a diesel.
2005 Black Pow Wagon mods: DT Profab Steering Brace, Gibson superflow catback single exhaust system, Locker Bypass, Moog ball joints (see how long they last), New OEM track bar bushings, T-steering upgrade w/ Bilstein 5100 steering damper, Power everything, Heated leather seats, (keeps the better half happy), Rear window defrost, Bilstein 5100 shocks, 35x12.5x17 Toyo AT2 Extremes, Customized H2 alloy wheels, Original rock rails with family friendly steps welded on, Tri fold tonneau, Hi-lift extreme jack, Tool box along with all the essential PW gear. New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

If you ever happen to see me running somewhere, you should start running too. :)

There, I just solved the problem ;)
I don't think FCA is going to see the six lost sales as much of a demand.

When the 6 speed was offered on the 3rd gens it accounted for 10-15% of production. Not a lot but more than 6 LOL. They will NEVER sell another truck to me without a manual.

Hills are for trucks. Mountains are for snowmobiles. :lockedandloaded:

Find the Power Wagon.

Just a little party in the mountains.

Going up!
Image

Holds 60+ comfortably at 4800-5000 all the way up.
Image

Truck's 6700lbs empty, probably 7k with the stuff in it... trailer tares at 4700, add sled/gear/tools/etc, probably 6000-6500 on the hook.
Image

All downhill from here...
Image

In the 50 miles from the trailhead to Silverthorne I averaged 9.0mpg. Dropped to 7.7 when I got to the top.
Image

Drop into 2nd and coast most of the way down; with the weight of the trailer, 2nd gear and tow/haul off holds speed nicely.

And my average from the trailhead to the house

I'll be doing that drive again next weekend without a trailer (or sled :( ).
"The gauntlet"... heh, more like "a quick weekend trip".

Oh how I miss living in Colorado so badly. I never towed anything more than a Uhaul trailer, but I have driven that "gauntlet" many times when going out trail searching. My favorite, but scariest, trail ride was a portion of Radical Hill and some other trails behind Keystone Ski Resort. Switchbacks made for Jeeps, made it a little scary for a full-size truck like my 07 PW. Good times!
