My next move?
So for the past year I've been making my 2005 PW driveable again. It's taken me so long because I work out of the country and have long rotations. The next thing I will be doing is fixing the lockers. But after that I really have no idea where to go with this beast. Any suggestions? Now I don't want a 12" lifted truck riding on 40's. I just have no need for that. So any help on how to make this truck a better hunting/fishing/daily driver would be helpful. Thank you

Re: My next move?
Wow what a clean looking 05!! IMHO just get a set of 37" tires and what ever you have to do to make them fit nicely. Maybe just a set of slightly longer control arms. No huge need for a lift. Maybe front coils if you feel the need. You have decent shocks. Could upgrade if you wanted too but for what you want to do Id leave em and just do a nice set of 37s and control arms. You have factory rock rails. which is sweet. Front diff guard would be the only thing I'd suggest for armour. And basic maintenance. Ball joints if needed. Tie rods ect
08 ctd--mini max--thuren 3" coils and LT Leaves--4.56 gears and lockers in pw axles--some lights--afe intake system--bd super b turbo--Banks w/m Injection--Dynatrac Balljoints--king 2.5"s--37" Hankook Dynapro MT--DOR Long arms--Custom emf track bar--Manual T-case swap--Full PW Under armor--PSC Hydro Assist and so much more

Thanks for the input. Looking at control arms for it now. Just don't know who makes them better. Carli or Thuren

Tracbar, it really helps tighten the front. Not too expensive neither. Can't speak for Carli control arms but I love my Thuren's, couple of pumps of grease at each oil change and keep on rocking, I've had the Thuren control arms for 2 years and 49K miles with zero issues.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

I have a Carli track bar installed now and I love it. I might just stick with carli stuff. But what is emf? Are they a front end supplier?

Re: My next move?
Why do you need to make it better. Is it not good enough. Have fun using it instead of slaving on it. Stock PW with 35s is good enough for 99% of real world usage.

Re: My next move?
When you upgrade to certain parts, it's amazing what a difference. I upgrade each part as it wears out. Right now, my truck feels twice as light and nimble as it did new.PWRider wrote:Why do you need to make it better. Is it not good enough. Have fun using it instead of slaving on it. Hell yeah, key word "feels", it's still 6900lbs but very controlled. I put 60K miles on it stock with 35's and can promise you its way better now offroad at slow speeds or haul ass mode.olyelr wrote:Will wrote:When you upgrade to certain parts, it's amazing what a difference.
