Steering Damper For 05 PW

Post by OldSchool2 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 1:55 pm

Anyone know if Bilstein makes a steering damper that works with the 05 Power Wagon bolt style steering damper? I went to the Bilstein's website and I believe it's part # 24-164870 but the 05 isn't listed as a fit. Just want to make sure I get this right before I place the order.

If you still have the original Y style steering that's the one.

I still have the factory setup with the bolt going through the tie rod, not the bracket style. Thanks.

I put a Carli damper on my '05 last August. Old one was fine, but old, so I decided to change it when I did the rest of the suspension upgrades. My truck still has the original steering setup, but there are two recalls on it, so that may change. An advantage of the Carli damper is that it comes with parts to work on either steering style. So if the recall results in new steering gear, all I have to do is add the Carli clamp to my damper.
