No problem at all getting up to speed and easily held 75mph on the interstate and averaged 11.7mpg.

Obviously, our springs are softer. Thats it. They are softer for more articulation, but you knew that I'm sure. The fix is easy peasy. If you have leaf springs you can do air bags, Timbrin's or these (which is what i have with no complaints) http://www.carid.com/hellwig/lp-35-load ... gQod8jMJsA To get back to stock, you just remove the outer most 4 u-bolts (2 on each leaf), leave the center in place. Takes 10 min with an elec impact gun.

Other options are, a set of reg 2500 leaf springs but then you will lose your articulation.

If you have a new PW & want less squat when towing, just order a set of rear coils for a reg 2500. but again, you will lose your rear articulation. Easy peasy.

It don't mean you can tow more, it just means you can tow max weight much more safely. Both the truck & the trailer should be level with the ground & toungue weight should be 10-15% of total trailer weight, but i'm sure you knew that as well.

All other things remaining equal, stiffer rear suspension will increase oversteer. You can partially compensate for that on pavement by lowering your front tire pressure and raising your rear tire pressure. On loose surfaces (sand, mud, snow), it won't make much difference, but a little. When you are driving fast, it does make a difference. Unintended consequences and all that stuff.

Am I wrong when I have been thinking all along that the coil sprung rear ends can have air bags added? Gosh I hope not.

I wouldn't want to replace the coils with stiffer units. I just wanna add some bags and air em up when towing.

Haha yeah I just was looking at that website a minute ago. Some of the install instructions were showing leaf springs, so I couldn't get a good look on how they mount. But they do offer em anyway, so that is a good thing. I wonder if they would work with the added height/travel of the power wagon.

Several of us have them on leaf-sprung PWs, and I have not heard any complaints.

I dont think the coil sprung PW's have anymore articulation or travel than the leaf sprung, so I would think they would work just fine then.

The Scrambler is not "technically mine yet" My best friend inherited it but he doesn't know or want to know anything about engines and such so I'm going to try to adopt it :D . He's the type to drive a truck and never have it serviced unless something breaks and then drive it until it breaks beyond repair. He's not even interested in the Scrambler and told me to take it home and get it running. I had to nurse the battery back to life and disassemble the fuel pump, clean it out, drop the tank, clean it out, new fuel filter and got it to fire up. The carb is leaking gas from every possible location so I'm going to pull it and rebuild it then go from there.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

My '15 Power Wagon handles our 34ft ~8500lb travel trailer much much better than my '07 PW did. Made me question the lower ratings.

thought I'd throw a pic of our trailer up, it's GVWR is 10000lbs,-quite heavy for a smaller trailer. The truck handles it great, although when you get into the mountains you can feel that it struggles from time to time( at least compared to my old cummins). MPG is 9-10 US Gal vs my cummins which was 12-13 so not a massive drop.

Lots of towing questions about the power wagon' I assume because of the big difference in towing capacities between its standard 2500 brother. I have a 2015 pw and I am a full time rv'r pulling a 11400 open range bumper pull with a 1100 hitch weight. The squat is 5 inches which of course raises the front enough to piss off the people in front of you at night. So I installed the Firestone 5000 airbags which mount with zero drilling on the old rubber stops. Install takes an hour and half. I also replaces the D rated duratrek tires after 30k and put on 315/70/17 Bridgestone at's which are E rated. Same 3195 load rating as the factory duratrek D but stiffer sidewall so it brings it into spec with the standard 2500 tow ratings of 15k and 3300 payload. I have zero squat now and can adjust the fully rear to any height I wish. I've trailered this Rv 4000 miles in last six months without issue and will be upgrading to 14k fifth wheel 2500hitch weight soon.
