New power wagon with 35's

Post by mlcturbocat » Fri Jul 10, 2015 12:18 pm

2015 Tradesman PW. 5k miles and just added 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ.

Plenty of clearance, no rubbing anywhere. Didn't notice any power loss, or at least not enough to make a discernible difference. These are also load range D so a bit softer ride and i wouldnt recommend for heavy towing (Nor would I on the factory duration). They balanced better than the factory ones. i used to have a small vibration at 50 now its gone. Tires do wander a bit more, maybe because more surface area. Slightly louder than duratracs. Look bad ass... :)

Speedo off about 3MPH at 60.

Looks really good. My new wagon has 500 miles on it and I've noticed my stock Durashakes cause a nice vibration in the 65mph range. My 285/75/17 Toyo's on my old truck were smooth runners and took very little weight to balance.

looks good. I have been thinking about 35's. the factories look too small. I also have a nice vibration at 65 from my duratrac's as well. was thinking about complaining to dealer.

I couldn't get my factory tires off fast enough... Much better ride with a different tire...

I had to have mine balanced twice in the first week. Vibration started at 65, peaked at 70 and disappeared around 75. Didn't notice the first few days because Speed Limits on the highways I drive most are 75. First balance every tire took 1-1.5 ounces. Vibrated less, but was still noticeable. Got them balanced again at a different place; front driver side took another ounce, and I had them rotate it to the back. Now vibration free. If the second hadn't fixed it, would have been back at the dealer. I have run Nittos on previous trucks and never had any sort of issues. Love the look of the Duratracs, but will not go back to them for my next set.

i had a vibration as well and had dealer re balance, he found all four way out and had one that could not balance. He found this tire to be out of round and they will be replacing the tire.

The 35 s look great do you think there is room for 37"? I bought a set of used wheels with some 37s on them and will try them on in couple of weeks.

35s do look awesome, like they are meant to be. 37's come pretty naturally for this truck to, go for it and report back!
If I start listing Mods I would have to change the list daily

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Im in camp working and a guy i know back home posted them for sale cheap! Could not wait or they woulda been gone. The wheels alone are worth more than i paid and if the tires wont work out i will sell them.

I might just order the Thuren contol arms after a test fit. Wont need to run them till next spring.

Definately cant wait to try them on!
