Thuren front coils
Thuren front coils
I've been reading and do not want to beat a dead horse, but I want to bring up the front end a bit (no spacers). I don't have the $$ for shocks just yet. I was thinking 3" coils from Thuren. Or should I just go with the 2"?
Like I said, I know it's been covered. I have a 2012 stock minus the thuren control arms. I am hoping to keep the rub on the sway bar down a bit more.
Thanks guys

2" coils will should level you out (I'm not 100% on this, I've never seen a Hemi/PW with the 2" coils), 3" will require shackles in the back.
I put 3" coils on mine, and I've got the shackles out back, as well, on highest setting. Well worth the money!
Keep in mind, an adjustable track bar is also a must-do, as well.

Did you replace the shocks? Just curious. I guess I need to save up some money and make that happen!
Re: Thuren front coils
First things first 2011RPW sexy truck!! As to the 2 inch Thuren coils see below with the estimated lift heights I got these numbers from Don and cjc offroad.
-2.5" of lift on 3rd gen Hemis
-2.5" of lift on 2nd gen diesels
-3" lift on 2nd gen gas
-2" of lift on 3rd gen diesels
http://www.cjcoffroad.com/Thuren-2-Soft ... p/tf2c.htm
With that being said I have no info on 4th gen's just that they are heavier... Carli 3 inch and thuren 2 inch coils apparently give power wagons about an inch lift over stock on average as the argument has been that Wagons come with roughly a 2inch lift from Factory with a 1/2 lift from bigger 33 inch tires.. At least this was the rule of thumb with us 3rd gen guys... The Thuren 3 inch coils would give you about 4 inches of lift making a new track bar mandatory. You could probably stick with stock shocks if you used the 2 inch coils. Anything bigger and your shocks will act like limiting straps LOL.

Re: Thuren front coils
Agreed 3" Thuren coils and you should run a new track bar. 3.5-3.75" of lift on a fourth gen truck depending on bumper weight.

I'm running the Thuren 3" coils adjustable track bar rear shackles boogie bumps and overland shocks annnnd the high clearance control arms. Fit 37" tires with ease. And a heavy ass bumper. Sits pretty good I am on mid height on my shackles

That is the exact setup I am planning, well minus the boogies. If buying in stages would you recommend the arms first?Kenadian wrote:I'm running the Thuren 3" coils adjustable track bar rear shackles boogie bumps and overland shocks annnnd the high clearance control arms.

Re: Thuren front coils
I know this is a 4th gen thread but I just put 3 inch coils and track bar on my 05 and I'm sitting about a 3/8 above level.
Re: Thuren front coils
Yes arms first. Then you can run the 37" at stock height then add as you go. To get more clearance and better ride.2011TXPowerWagon wrote:That is the exact setup I am planning, well minus the boogies. Measuring from Bumpstops? Or fenders? Fender measurements aren't accurate, or so I've been told.AllanDickerson wrote:I know this is a 4th gen thread but I just put 3 inch coils and track bar on my 05 and I'm sitting about a 3/8 above level.

From the fenders. That's where I see the difference so I measured there

Re: Thuren front coils
Yeah fender measurements are not always the best place to measure from, but they are a good start.
I have always figured a truck looks "level" if the lower portion of the body between the front and rear tires is at a level plane, or just a touch lower in the front. My jeep is setup this way and the front fenders are an inch higher than the backs. But it looks level.

Re: Thuren front coils
I measured the lower portion of the body. I'm about 3/8 high in the front with thuren 3 inch coils on my 3rd gen with a stock bumper. It still tows great, I towed a boat yesterday on a double axle trailer weighing about 7000 pounds.
