This shit has worked like magic for cleaning MANY things that ordinary cleaners can not touch. Has not damaged anything, ever. It is like a PW in a bottle...jack-of-all-cleaners/trades. lol  Kills MANY serious germs, degreases an engine like nobody's business, makes an engine bay look like new, It is the ONLY cleaner that cleans my DuraBak bedliner on my rockers & makes it look like brand new. WD-40 works for road tar but thats about it. You can buy it by the gal at Hdepot for about $11-12.

This is the second truck I've done my rockers in Line-X, and because of how well the rockers cleaned up and stayed new on the old truck I was happy to add it to my bumpers and my grill. The Line-X cleans up really nice. The chrome on my bumpers and grill never cleaned up right so I was happy to make it go away. I'm just starting to think having Line-X on the whole truck would be too much.

Personally I love the look of a fully rock guarded truck.

I'm not going to that extreme. But.

I am doing lower body line, front and rear bumpers and fender flares.

Along with either the centre or outline of my good depending on what my 52" bar does for glare.

I have a 1980 CJ that I Rhino lined the whole inside, and it is much more heavy. As well it dos fade after years, and then what, Scrap it all off??? if it is a Rock / Mud only then ok, but if you want a DD to be covered, I really would not do that. IMO

This picture answers my question- it just doesn't look right. Looks like on nicer days I'll just have to spend more time washing the truck, and I'll just keep detailing it as soon as winter is over.
Whew! You had me worried there for a minute!

I think it might take a little extra to wash, but what you gain in paint protection would be worth it!

Personally love the look, a co-worker has his jeep done up like that. And it's pretty gnarly.

So this whole spraying the truck with bed liner came to me again today, but with a different twist. Spraying the white on my truck with white line-x and keeping the black the way it is.

Thoughts?

Years ago I bought a cj5 that was linexed inside and out. Turns out the entire body was rusted out completely and the only thing holding the tub together was the bedliner. Couldn't find any place where the lining was damaged, but moisture got in somewhere and spread like cancer. I linexed my bed and I can see doing rockers and such but I would never do a whole vehicle.

White paint can be an ass pain to keep clean. At least if it was bed liner I could take a scrub brush to it.

Hello 04Ram2500Hemi,

I would get your truck professionally wet sanded and buffed out and it will look great, I'm personally not a fan of line-x (or similar) anywhere but the truck bed and rocker panels on a daily driver. It might be tough but it ruins the trade-in/resale value.

Don't do it. It will end up looking like shit in a couple years and make your truck worthless for resale value.
2005 Black Pow Wagon mods: DT Profab Steering Brace, Gibson superflow catback single exhaust system, Locker Bypass, Moog ball joints (see how long they last), New OEM track bar bushings, T-steering upgrade w/ Bilstein 5100 steering damper, Power everything, Heated leather seats, (keeps the better half happy), Rear window defrost, Bilstein 5100 shocks, 35x12.5x17 Toyo AT2 Extremes, Customized H2 alloy wheels, Original rock rails with family friendly steps welded on, Tri fold tonneau, Hi-lift extreme jack, Tool box along with all the essential PW gear. New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

If you ever happen to see me running somewhere, you should start running too. :)

Yea, I'm gunna agree with these guys and say no as well. I'm happy with my bed, bumpers, grille (it's peeling off) and eventually getting my rockers being done, buy anything more than that would be overkill and wouldn't be worth it unless you were planning on keeping it forever and wheeling it hard in the woods. Get a good detail/wet sand and buff/wax done and you'll fall in love with it again. White might look like a turd when dirty but it doesn't look nearly as bad as black, and it's not nearly as hard to make it look good after a quick wash.

I recently looked into having just the hood on my white '05 filmed with clear vinyl wrap to protect it from bird crap and all the other stuff that sits on it. With the discount from a local shop that does a lot of business with these guys, it was still going to be $650 for just the hood. For that money, I can have the hood repainted in a few years.

That's what I was thinking about- but I think this would be an expensive option (not that Line-X would be a cheap option).

My bed liner guy said they don't do white because over time it fades and turns a yellow color. That ends that idea.

From Starwood's website:
IMPERVIOUS TO SCRATHES & CHIPS
If they can't spell "scratches" then I don't think I would trust them with an expensive truck.
