Tire replacement question

Post by PurdellMGP » Sun Sep 06, 2015 10:43 am

Hi guys....got a question and although I no longer have my PW, currently a 2015 2500 Laramie Crew. But this site has always provided me with the best info out there, so returning back for feedback.

I've got stock Firestone tires size 285/60R/20, needing to replace them shortly. The tire size is pretty odd, and if looking for tires that size gives me about 4 choices none that I want.

Based on your experience what tire size can I look at or that you'd recommend I look at? The more popular the size the better the prices seem to be...

Seems a 275/65/20 might be the way to go....slightly narrower but seems to be better prices and options.

Thanks for the help!

You could go with the 33x12.50R20 as well, just a touch shorter but wider, or the ones your talking about, same height just a little narrower, either way you go I don't think you'll notice especially if you going beefier.

Take a look at the Toyo A/T II. They don't have the exact size, but there's a couple of good options that should work for you.

The Goodyear Duratracs would be my first choice in that size - at any price...
They're even load range E

Read through all the Duratrac reviews on tirerack.com. Most seem to be getting over 50k miles on them - numerous reports of people getting up to 80k miles. A lot will depend on how little remaining tread you're willing to run with.
