UConnect Patch to avoid hack

Guys with newer trucks should probably patch before the kiddies start trying to hack your ride.

Installed the latest software on mine this evening. Took about an hour from download on a computer flash drive to applying the update in the truck.

It's bad enough that authorities can shut down your vehicle - don't need to leave it open to hackers too. :excited:

Yet another reason why I love my '12 which has the older style UConnect.

Do I need to download this through a sd card and place in in the truck, or can I go through the computer scrren inside the truck and download it?

Download to a USB drive - you should only have a single .iso file on the drive. Then follow the procedure which has you inserting the USB drive into the port on the truck.

I was actually thinking the same thing. It's kind of nice knowing somebody won't remote into my truck and take over- that's freaky!

It looks like the file(s) will vary based on what device it is updating. Mine ended up being a series of files rather than a single iso.

I did mine with a flash drive. It was pretty easy.
