first time pulling with my 15

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

first time pulling with my 15

Post by bvpw » Sun Jul 19, 2015 12:27 am

I inherited a 46 John Deere b from my grandpa so we made the trip to south Dakota. Also had a pig feeder on the trailer for my dad, family of four "young kids" and luggage. 1000 mile trip one way averaged around 8 to 10 if I was lucky. Truck pulled better than any other gas motor I've had deff missed the power stroke. I'll try to get a pic

What kind of highway speeds were you doing? I haven't pulled with my 15 yet, but I have noticed that my mileage really dives at interstate speeds (70-75 mph).

Your 2015 sounds a lot like my 2012. When I tow our 21ft Pontoon I average 8.8mpg. Fuel economy and Power Wagon have never gone hand in hand. On the interstate once I go over 70mph it takes a dive. For me it's just a good thing I average less than 9,000 miles a year.

I was staying around 68-70. I've only had it a few months and have 4900 miles on it, if I pulled even light I'd be looking for another diesel. This trip had me feeling a little buyers remorse and didn't help that diesel was cheaper most the way there.
