Replacement nylon bushings for winch rollers

Post by leo72987 » Thu May 14, 2015 11:09 am

Hey guys so I know you can order replacement roller packages from the dealer I have spare set. My question is have any of you found replacement bushings for the rollers? One cracked and fell off lol... I hate to take one from my new set.... I rather just buy new bushings I know the dealer doesn't sell them separately.

I'd go to a smaller local shop... ace hardware around here is good.
Find the old guy that works there. He'll know where everything is.

Lowes/HomeDepot doesn't carry much in the way of small screws/nuts/bolts/washers/etc, and the people that work there probably won't know where anything is either. "A 4-40 half-inch what? Is that an electrical cable?"

Yea, Ace Hardware or Fastenal should have something or can get something if they don't have it. When I need something one off or kind of a special order, 99% of the time they have it in stock or can order it.

If it was me I would just put on the spare set you don't want to skimp on winch parts for safety reasons.

Sorry to resurrect the thread but it seems related. I have just ordered my synthetic winch line ( custom splice, 7/16 100 feet Amsteel) I noticed the rollers are a bit chewed up due to the need to use the winch....I want to see if some one can tell me the actual dimensions for the rollers. I cant seem to find a kit part number but I can find rollers in varying sizes. if some one can provide me the dimensions as im not any place near my truck but I have time to research them where I am. Any help would be appreciated.

You can deburr and polish the stock rollers if need be. As long as they are free of anything to snag the rope, they work fine. Can't help on dimensions, but I've searched and not found any long enough for our rollers.

Take them off and polish them back up. I run synthetic and haven't had an issue doing that.

You guys can buy replacement roller packages from Dodge they are cheap. I put this info in our FAQ section a year or so ago. I stocked up on these suckers since who knows how long they will be available. Some online sites don't list these... You may or may not need to go to a Chrysler Dealer. I never had any luck finding the replacement nylon inserts :(. If you search for the vertical roller part number it will come up as not available but they indeed are. I went to a dealer and they were able to get me some.
