Bakflip cover

Post by Horseplay » Mon Mar 30, 2015 11:52 pm

Found this set up here (on this forum) and really want to do the same. Does anyone know if the Bakflip F1 will work with the box? It should sit low enough, I'm worried about the six inch panel at the cab end of the bed. My first concern is that the box may not be able to open, the next is interference with mounting hardware. I'm crossing my fingers on the gas cans.

Nice setup. What kind on cans are those & did those mounts come with the cans? Are those mounts attached to the tool box or the bed?

i don't know what you plan on storing in the tool box, but you may grow tired of jumping in the bed to open/reach for your items in there.

So I found the cans at a website called "Lexington Container Co". They're real NATO metal Jerry cans. Figure i'll keep them empty except when they're needed. With a siphon hose, I wouldn't need to remove the cans to fill the Wagon or another person's tank. Looks like they stand about 18.5" tall and I would attach them to the box for stability. The website does offer the can mount but I think Smittybuilt might have a cheaper alternative. http://www.lexingtoncontainercompany.co ... -Cans.html

Twinstick, I would be forever in your debt if you could take a measurement for me. Ideally, I'd like to get a Deezee rubber bed mat in there too but that might be pushing it with clearance issues. I believe the bedrails are 20" high. I'm going to guess the F1 sits about an inch lower. It could work as long as there isn't any mounting hardware hanging down.
