Question for SLT / Laramie Guys

Post by Horseplay » Thu Mar 12, 2015 8:12 pm

Still waiting on the new truck to arrive. Noticed the SLT comes with rubber floor mats and was wondering if the Laramie came with the same or just the carpeted mats. Also, how do you SLT guys like the mats, should I consider the weather tech instead or is it worth buying factory mats from the dealer?

Not an SLT or Laramie owner but, do have some input on floormats. I have Husky Liners and I HIGHLY recommend them. I've not had Weathertechs in the Power Wagon BUT, after seeing Weathertechs vs Husky liners in my wife's Yukon, I prefer the Husky Liners. (though my wife prefers the Weathertechs! So, I guess that's a vote for each, LOL!) I've had Husky Liners in 5 vehicles now and I LOVE them!!!

I vote Husky as well. I'm on my second truck with them, and they are the first thing I ordered for my truck. Worth every penny!

Took my carpeted mats out for the winter and replaced them with the Mopar All-Weather (Slush Mats) front and rear. They are designed for the Ram crew cabs and hook in - so they never move around or shift. Not a drop has made it past them.

Bill, did your truck come with the slush mats or just carpet? If you bought them did you get them from the dealer?

I've got the WeatherTech floor liners and I would recommend them also. Only thing that kinda sucks is they don't go far enough up into the footwell if you have long legs and use every bit of the footwell like I do.

2014 slt with the rubber floor, no mats at all. Love it! Just sweep it out and wash with a hose.

I ordered the all weather RAM color matched brown floor mats with my truck, which required an uograde to the all carpet floors. So my truck has carpet floors with the Ram rubber mats front & back, and carpeted floor mats did not come with it. The rubber/vinyl floor is cool too, very utilitarian, but there's no where for snow or water to go, it'll just pool. I spent 10 days in deep snow hunting dragging boots full of snow in & out 4x a day, on both sides & I just took the mats out & dumped the melted snow out.

I ordered weather tech mats for my F250 & ehh, they were ok, didn't fit as great as they claimed. There was some gap between mat & fire wall & they moved around a little. I would not go to the trouble or cost to order them again.

I've got the Laramie, came with the carpet and carpet mats. I had husky and weathetec in the last dodge, and noticed the husky kept curling and not keeping its shape. So I went weathertec, and they worked way better. So I ordered them for this one, and they do fit great, and cover all the carpet, including in the back where my monsters sit!

MY SLT came with the rubber ones and carpet ones too. I had the dealer "upgrade" them to Weathertechs though.

I used to run Husky Liners all the time until they changed the compound and they curled a lot. Now I run Weathertech in both vehicles.

I guess I'm confused by a couple of the Husky Mats. I have the "Original" Husky mats and like them, but they might not be for everybody.

The Laramie came by default with carpet and carpet mats. Shortly after I registered the truck online and setup the Uconnect, Mopar sent me a discount coupon for any accessory on Mopar.com that had to be ordered through the dealer. Those slush mats are available in black or tan to exactly match your interior color. The floor mats arrived at the dealer a few days after I ordered them.

2008 with Weathetechs here, originally ordered huskey's and the fitment was really bad for my truck, the weathertechs fit way better.

Have the Mopar carpeted over the hump catchall in the back (hardly ever have anyone in the back)
08' Dodge RAM PowerWagon (Laramie, 6 Speed)
GO: Diablo tuned, AEM drop in, Magnaflow "Y" and 24" muffler (dumper over the axle)
Traction/Suspension:305-70-17 Toyo AT2's, DT Profab Steering Brace, Carli front diff guard.
See: Silver stars headlights, 9012 fogs, reprogrammed for fogs with high beams, (2)6" KC LED gravity in driving/spread behind the grill
Tunes:Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS w/stock infinity amp, Infinity ref. dash/reardoor speakers, kappa component front door, JL rear stealth box and JX500.1d.
Other: Dually marker light under the tailgate, 2013+ Red hemi badges, Bedtred bedliner and mopar rubber mat, Wheel well liners, rubber flaps, Bakflip MX4, W2W Mopar steps (bedlined black), weathertech front mats and rain deflectors.

That's funny, I have the opposite problem- my Husky mats have kept their shape perfectly but my wife's Weathertechs are curling and won't keep shape!

Now I will say this: I have the original Husky style (the diamond plate looking ones), they are all I have ever run. I have never run the more OEM looking ones that look like the Weathertechs. I like the diamond plate style. My wife did not like them in her Yukon (said they looked too utilitarian and "manly") so, in her second Yukon (XL this time) she wanted the more OEM ones. We got Weathertechs instead of the Husky liners since the dealer threw them in on the deal on the Yukon XL.

Thanks fella's, guess I'll probably order the slush mats from the dealer. Just didn't wanna pay twice for them.
