ordering a new wagon

Post by bvpw » Sun Feb 22, 2015 11:29 pm

Ok trading a 10 f350 powerstroke. Tuned and deleted.

Thinking I want white but don't want red graphics. Can you order them with different color graphics and without the red grill. Want the cloth with heated seats. Test drove a Laramie but don't think it's worth the money. Any options you wish you would of gotten but didn't. Can't seem to find any in Wyoming or even surrounding states.

Been reading on them a bunch they sound awesome. Thanks for any input you can give.

Only the regular, middle of the road power wagon model comes with the red grille, and if you want heated seats (they only come in leather, not cloth) then you'll have to get the Laramie. Can't add heated seats to the power wagon package. You can do a graphic delete, but you can't do a grille delete, lol.

Ramboxes seem to be the only thing most guys regret, but it really depends on what you use the truck for, hauling tools and gear for your job or around the house or if you haul atvs or dirt bikes in it.

I thought you could get heated cloth with dodge. Friend has a big horn 1500 with heated cloth and steering wheel? And will the ram boxes fit a handyman and shovel?

Yeah you can definitely get heated cloth seats with the slt.

You can have the graphics deleted, but not sure if you can get a differnt color graphics put on from the factory. I know they do ffer a gray/black set of graphics, but it comes on the really dark grey and blue colors.

The grill, well hell just take it off and paint it. Someone did that on here and it looked good/factory.

I know what ya mean about trying to find a power wagon to look at. Impossible! Pisses me off!

white 2014 SLT with just side graphics, has heated seats and heated steering wheel, didn't need them in the desert, but they were on the truck. kept the red grill, wife likes the grill, you could always plastic-dip the grill matt black

If I was ordering a truck today I'd order one like mine but I'd tell them to keep the sunroof (I just don't use it in Montana), and I'd add heated seats, heated steering wheel, and the Rambox. I'd also go the SLT Route with the cloth seats (I'm not much of a leather guy). I'd also tell them to keep all the graphics on the side, it's just not my style. As far as the red grill goes, I'd have that sucker sprayed with Line-X just like I had my grill on my 2012 sprayed.

When you order a PW and delete the graphics on the SLT then it comes with a regular chrome grill... It doesn't have the red inserts...

Hmm, I could have swore if you added heated seats it automatically made them perforated leather in the builder. That must have been the older '13 style, haven't built a' 15 yet.

I don't know about the ram boxes. But I do think white with the gray graphics would look good. And chrome grill. I have a friend from work who's wife works for a dealer and said I could get her family discount and it's invoice plus 600. Is that a good deal or about standard

I ordered a SLT & I have heated seats & steering wheel. The red grill only comes on the SLT & only in 5 colors: red, black (which apparently Ram has run out of :D ), white, silver, dark grey metallic.

It may have been that way back then, but not any more. Hell, the only way to get leather anymore is to get the Laramie package. Its kind of a crock of shit. No, it IS a crock of shit. I am sure I am not the only person who wants leather seats, but doesnt really want all the extra exterior stuff the laramie gets like all the chrome add-ons all over, painted flares, etc.

Silver hides scratches really well. I love my white 2012, but I really miss the silver I had on my 2004 HD Hemi. Every truck from here on out will be silver. Maybe I'll order a new Power Wagon if they still make them in 10 or so years from now in silver.

Silver hides them good my truck is mangles but with all the dents and whole body covered in scratches it looks good from 30 feet away lol
Very forgiving color. No dark colors and red is just as bad for scratches. Good luck

I just ordered one too. I could have done without the different grades, ie Tradesman, SLT, Laramie. I know this is how they make their money but a simple Power Wagon truck with an option list would have been convenient . I ended up with the Laramie bc I wanted the keyless entry, leather and pushbutton/remote start. Otherwise I would have ordered a Tradesman with rubber floor and added the Power Wagon badge on the rear gate.

Congrats on the new PW. I agree with simplifying the trim lines. One PW that you can order options from would be a cool way to do it. That way we all just have a "PW" & tailor it to our own needs.

This may sound stupid but do you need to go to the stealership to order? I'm a USAA member but I don't think the PW is on the list of available Rams. I don't want to pay a dime more than the guy who got the best deal on same truck I'll be buying obviously. Any clues on where to get the best deal?
