I'm holding my opinion on the cost of the Ram AEV Products until we see the official cost of things. I've seen comments and speculation on how much items will cost, but until it's on the AEV Website where you can order parts, it's all speculation to me. I've seen comments that the wheels are around $250 each, the Raised Air Intake is going to be around $500, the bumper is north of $2,000 and the suspension is in that $2,000 range too I believe. Again, until AEV makes it official, I'm not going to focus on the cost right now. I've already decided I'm not going to lift my truck, and at most I'm going to run some 285/75 tires instead of the stock 285/70 size, but other than that I'm not sure how much crazier I'm going to get with my truck.

that must be tough living next to AEV. back in my younger days i'ld spend every dollar i had on mods. nowadays i need to justify my mods and make sure i get a real result out of it. a man's got to know his limitations.

I know aev in the jeep world, and i can tell ya there stuff is on the upper end of pricing. In basically everything they sell, you can get it quite a bit cheaper just about through any other manufacturer. But, the quality is there too, so....

I've never doubted the quality in AEV Products. For me it comes down to what mods do I need, and how much do I really want to spend? Until we see a price list from AEV I'm just going to sit back and wait. My truck is pretty much done for what I need it to do, but I wouldn't mind a couple more minor tweaks if it's in the budget.

Snorkel err intake & bumper are going to the top after my sliders. Caveat, only if I don't have to move the winch to the bumper...

You do have to move the winch to the bumper... When you order the PW AEV bumper it will come with a kit from Warn to clock the winch differently (or something like that) and has a shorter clutch handle... I was disappointed when I heard that from AEV... I'll try to find what AEV Dave wrote about the PW bumper on the forum...

Those tow hooks (well, I guess thats what those are) dont look overly strong. Coming from AEV I suspect they are up to the task, but they sure dont look very stout in that pic. Looks like a hard tug with a jerk strap toward one side or the other would just want to snap it off...

The hood graphic is the AEV one, it blacks out the entire hood vs the PW mini blackout.

There are some changes needed for the PW winch to be placed into the AEV Bumper. The handle needs to be rotated and swapped with the standard Warn short handle and a new bracket is required for mounting the solenoid pack. We're working to get these parts put together into an additional PW kit for the bumper.

I'm starting to think there won't be a bumper that will allow us to keep the winch in the factory location unless you want to risk running it through 2 sets of rollers and having weird angles going on that don't look the safest.

Check these guys out.

Winch stays put. Their shop is about 3 miles from my house and I have seen a few Rams with these bumpers being installed on site. They look pretty stout in person, but not sure yet if I want to spend $2000 for an aluminum bumper. (Their bumpers get generally really good reviews and comments about strength and performance...)

I've seen that bumper on his truck, but I'm pretty sure he has it running through 2 sets of rollers doesn't he? And a few on here aren't very fond of that setup.

Yes, I do have it running through two sets of rollers. There's no other option of doing it any other way. Since this bumper retains the factory winch mount and rollers, you need another set mounted on the bumper.

Whats the downside of having the line going through two sets of rollers (or rollers and Hawse on the bumper)?

I'd like to get a bumper to protect against wildlife strikes. The AEV bumper is pretty but doesn't have enough protection for me. Aluminess has the double rollers and I'm uncertain how aluminum will hold up compared to steel. ARB modular is steel but requires winch re-positioning and is pricey. I'm leaning towards ARB but worried about install since I don't want to tackle that on my own.

I think the best thing about the Aluminess is how light it is. I've given serious thought to putting one on my truck and having it coated with Line-X to protect the aluminum from winter conditions, and it would match the rest of what I have sprayed. I'm just not ready to spend the money on bumpers yet (I'm trying to be cheap, but so far this truck hasn't been a cheap investment).
