2014 PW leveling kit?

Post by Kbhowe1 » Mon Dec 15, 2014 4:52 pm

So which companies are offering a level kit for the 2014 PW? I have contacted Traxda and they have a 1.5" and 2" but the lady on the phone said that guys have tried this and it's not guaranteed for the power wagon.
Thx

If you just want to add some spacers up front to level the truck out, really you can get anything. You'll either get poly spacers or steel spacers. I like the poly ones because they don't make noise and can't rust. Some people like steel spacers better. I think they look weird personally. If you want to improve the suspension, then you have a couple of options available. What I usually suggest is to look at your budget and what you actually want to do with the truck. If you think adding more travel and giving the truck a softer ride is something you want to do, then skip the leveling spacers and go straight to new coil springs. They generally aren't much more, but the cost adds up when you get new shocks to use up that extra travel, and an adjustable track bar to center the axle, and new sway bar end links, and new rear coils to bump the rear suspension up an inch and also soften the ride, etc. It's a slippery slope once you go down that path. Not that it's a bad thing. It just makes a lot of wives mad.

I checked w/ Traxda as well, and was left feeling about the same... As near as I can tell the 1.5" kit should work just fine. I have been down at the dealership doing side by side comparison's w/ my 2014 wgn and regular 2500's. I was all about doing a leveling kit as I put 35's on my truck. But I really don't need it. The 35's fit great on stock wheels w/no rubbing yet so I think I'll leave mine alone.

What kind of tires and size did you put on there? I might end up just doing the same. Do you have any pics?
Thx

Check the sidewall on the inside of your front tire. 35 12.50 17 Toyo MT had a nice groove mark on mine. At full lock the tire contacts the bolt on the radius arm. That's why I had to swap mine out to a more offset wheel. I didn't want to go down in size much. I'd like to do the Traxda kit in the Spring and will put the Toyo MT's back on with the AEV wheel. When I talked to Traxda, I got mixed feelings from them on shock length. You can get shock extenders, but I'd rather skip that all together and get the proper length in there. I have to pull my shocks still and get the compressed and extended lengths.

You bet I checked that bolt, no rubbing. I think the RT is slightly narrower than the MT. Its close but it clears. I remember you posting somewhere that you had that issue.. As soon as it gets back from the dealer (ECM fried) I'll post up some pics..

35x12.50x17 Toyo RT I'll get some pics up when I get it back. Been at the dealer for the last week waiting on new ECM.
